The last time I left WDW, I knew I wouldn't be able to return for a long time because I couldn't afford it. The worst was knowing when and if we returned, my little girl would no longer be little and I'd never again get to watch that innocent wonder, amazement, and belief that is a part of childhood. I've always wished I could have afforded a video camera so I could watch that trip over and over again.

We're finally going back this fall due to a little extra money from my father's estate (he passed away last year). I probably shouldn't spend it on a vacation, but we haven't had one in years and my "little" girl is almost an adult now. It's always been just the two of us, and I want to make one more wonderful happy memory of a magical WDW experience. We've been dreaming about going back. It's a longing that's difficult to explain to people who've never been.

Leaving this time is going to be so, so hard, especially since we're returning to a life that we more often than not want to escape. However, I know how fortunate we are to have been able to go to WDW at all. It's out of reach for so many people.

To be able to say you'll be back as you leave WDW...what a feeling that must be!
After I read this, I was reminded of how important it is to be thankful for what we have. Many times I take for granted the vacations we've been blessed to have taken. I find myself wanting to book a trip to DW so that I don't have to wait the whole 10 months until the next one.....

I truly hope your vacation to the world is perfect, and that you and your daughter make wonderful memories!!!

Yes it is a blessing to able to go back yearly , we can not do this either but we feel blessed that we can go back around every 3rd year or so!!! We make vacations and life experiences a priority over most material things! How much stuff does a person need and when it is all said and done Memories will be with you always and the stuff goes by the way side!! SO thanks for this post and it will put the right perspective in many of our minds and help us cherish our Disney trips even more!!!!

Spend the day at a park, have a nice dinner and end the night in MK. Ride splash mountain last and walk down main street looking back at the castle and cry a little. then start thinking about the next trip!

My family used to always eat at Cape May Café and then walk the Boardwalk on our last night when we left early the next morning.

When we left later in the day, we would always make DTD our last stop.

Recently however, we haven't had just one tradition. Maybe its just grabbing mickey rice crispie treats to eat on our way to the airport.

Posting this on our fridge to put it all in perspective. At WDW age doesn't matter, have a great return trip with your daughter. I am sure it will be magical for you both.

My dad & I were just in the planning stages of a trip to WDW when he suddenly passed. There wasn't a lot left after the funeral costs but the rest my mom split with me & I used it to take my kids on their first WDW trip.. We have been back many times since then, we all love Disney!

Rainforest Cafe for lunch, stop by Quest and head home while being asked if we can go to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon the next weekend.

We like to try a roller coaster tour.

HS - Rock n Roller
MK - "The Mountains", sometimes just Space Mtn
AK - Expedition Everest

Order will depend on early magic hours and other factors. One year we stopped after 2nd park visit due to weather.
