Gresh & Zolak on 98.5 had the CSN-Chicago correspondant on, and he brought up something, and I was hoping that 1 of the 'Hawks fans can clarify. He said that there is a dog, that if he poops on Sharp's lawn, the 'Hawks win that night.

Is this true? And if it is, could someone post the address of the owner and a picture of the dog? I have some yummy yummy cheese for such a special doggy .

With everything that Boston has been put through with the marathon and seeing Jagr raise the cup would I hate it if Boston won? No. But I'm a Rangers fan and can't bring myself to root for the Bruins. And Patrick Sharp is pretty. So Go Hawks!

Since today was send off day at the Garden, I wrote this little ditty. Please forgive the structure. Longfellow isn't the easiest to emulate.

-------

Listen hockey fans and you shall hear
Of the Boston Bruins, who play just south of Revere
On the 12th of June, in 2013
The Bruins will face a formidable team
But, first let's look how we arrived here

The season was held up for 100 days
Due to the owners and their greedy ways
We, the fans were denied hockey
From October, through the holidays
No season openers, No Columbus Day Matinee

No Winter Classic
Featuring Toronto and Detroit
All for the sake of finding
A financial loophole to exploit

But finally, January 19th
Fences were mended
Teams were playing again
The lockout had ended

The Bruins were able
To get back to work
By winning the opener
3 to 1 against New York

The rest of the season
Was a rollercoaster of highs and lows
Multiple 3 game win streaks
But finished up, losing 2 in a row
Leading to a first round match with Toronto

The Leafs were the ideal match up for the B's
Or so we all thought
After Kessel, Kadri and Phaneuff,
They didn't have squat

In the first 4 games,
The Bruins' hitting and scoring took their toll
Especially Game 4's overtime loss
Which led to THIS EYE ROLL

But when Reimer stopped giving up 12' rebounds
And Lupul rallied his mates
It looked as if the Leafs had 2 new members,
Destiny and fate

In Game 7 The clock read
That 11 minutes remain
The Leafs were leading 4-1
In this close out game

In an act that provided hope
That the Bruins were not done yet
Lucic fed Horton
Who hits the back of the net

The game clock had read a minute twenty two
Before the Bruins were all but done
Lucic parked his big butt in front of the net
BANGED HOME THE REBOUND and cut the lead to one

To come this close and to lose
To Toronto, was such a pity
But then, with 50 seconds left
Bergeron LIFTED A CITY

A simple slap shot while literally
STANDING ON THE CUP IN THE ICE
There is no way that Bergy
Could do this twice

6 minutes into overtime
Bergeron WON THE GAME
"HOLY %^(<ing %#*@ !!!"
Is what I exclaimed

Next came the Rangers, with their Vezina goalie
And all their blocked shots
That will lead to a lot of 2-1 games
And my stomach twisted in knots

The Rangers laid out to block shots
From the likes of Chara and Boychuk
How many of them finished with lots
Of bruises in the shape of a puck

But in the end that was not enough
To stem the tide
For this series belonged to
"Mr. Krug's WILD RIDE"

The rookie stepped in
And made a name for himself
Shooting glove side, stick side
Going top shelf

His pressence actually made
The power play a factor
And made a believer of even
The biggest Bruins detractor

The B's had won the series
4 games to 1
The march to the Stanley Cup
Had officially begun

Standing in their way
Was #1 seed in the East
There was already tension
Due to the player they fleeced

The Pens had snatched Iginla at the deadline
In the 11th hour
To add his skill and leadership
To their already superior fire power

With names like Crosby, Malkin
Kunitz, Neal, Letang and Dupuis
They made Pierre McGuire sound like a love sick
School girl (Tee Hee)

With so much doting on the Penguins
No one gave the Bruins a chance
The announcers didn't bother learning their names
There's no way the B's would advance

The Bruins disagreed, and to a man
They stood their ground
There was no way "Crysby" was keeping them
From getting to the next round

His little antics at the end of the period
Showed him for the player is
But I bet when Z bent over to talk
Crosby stood there, and his pants filled with (rhymes with "miss")

It took 9 Bruins goals in 2 games
Before the Pens reverted to their style
But it was too late. The NHL's royalty
Would lose to the NHL's rank and file

The next round is unwritten
The games have yet to be played
The heroes and villains on both teams
Have yet to be portrayed

This is why we are fans
Of the greatest sport on Earth
Through effort, through sacrifice
Will each team prove their worth

4 more wins will determine
Which team is without peer
I'm pulling for the Boston Bruins
Who play just south of Revere

The Stanley Cup Finals start tomorrow night.

LET's GO B's!!!

I posted these in another thread as well.

DH's tribute to the Chicago Blackhawks. He was drawing it with chalk on the driveway but the rain kept washing it away. So Sunday morning he spray painted it on the lawn. It was all done free-hand.

Long time lurker of the Disboards and life long (21 years) Hawks fan, my brothers play hockey so we are big fans of the game. With that being said I had to go with the hawks winning, in 6 because it's not gonna be easy.

Hey hawks fans did you hear Stalberg is most likely out and Bollig in? Any thoughts?

Bollig is more physical. They'd put him on the 4th line with everybody's favorite penalty killers, Frolik and Kruger. I like Stalberg's speed, but I believe in coach Q. It's all about matchups.
