HDDR for a 3-year old

We are booking for the sleigh ride at FW in December. As we will be there it seemed like a good time to go to HDDR. Has anyone been with a 3 year old? My DD will be turning 3 just as we arrive. Just not sure if she will be into the show or if it is better to wait until a future trip?

I would wait for a future trip. I think a 3 year old would enjoy it because there is singing and dancing and lots of activity going on. But I think an older child would enjoy it more because they would understand more of the humor, could follow the story line of the show better and even volunteer for a role if they are the adventurous type. My youngest was 6 the first time we went to HDDR and I think she was old enough to understand most of the humor in the show.

My son was 3 1/2 his first trip to disney and his first time at the HDDR, he LOVED it. He still talks about it to this day. I think because our waitress was awesome, Ina from Spain. Also because it was loud, he may not have understood the jokes, but he enjoyed the food, environment, and scraping the washboard at the end!

If she likes a lot of action, and music then I would say go for it, it's a really fun family style dinner.

Both our 3 year old granddaughter and 5 year old grandson really loved HDDR. the five year old laughed at the jokes and enjoyed the show. The three year old loved our waitress, the food, and the show, too. I would definitely go to HDDR if it is something that the adults want to do. Kids are flexible.

There is a really nice playground at Fort Wilderness that your three year old will love. It is near the restaurant, between the lake and the buildings. Disney doesn't have enough play grounds and we all loved having a break while the kids played.

You could also eat at Trail's End. They have a nice dinner buffet that is supposed to be very good.

My then 3 yo grandson was picked to go on stage. It was adorable and he loved it. He and his 5 yo sister loved it, at their levels, and had a blast.
I say go for it!!!

DD went for the first time at 4 and loved it. We do it every trip, so DS has been 3 times already and has loved it every time. Well except for his first trip at 4 months when he slept through it.

We have taken our dd at 18 months and she loved it. We are taking her again in November and she will just have turned 3. It's a blast and holds her attention so well.
