Gluten Free Options

It seems like I read, or heard, awhile back that you can modify regular meals and make them gluten free. Like at a counter service meal, if you order a burger or hot dog you can get a gluten free bun. Or at a table service meal you can get a pasta dish made with gluten free pasta. Is this correct?

Both DD and I need to watch our gluten intake (we're not allergic, just sensitive to it) so if we have options for different choices we'd like to be able to take advantage of that. Thanks.

Check out the disAbilities threads here at the DIS..Lots of gluten-free, and other menu, information there. It is further down the list of topics. Sorry, I am a techno-loser, can't explain it any other way.

Disney is incredible when it comes to Gluten sensitivity. The chef will come out personally and tell you everything they can make for you withouth gluten and they take great care to avoid cross contamination. Every restaurant we've been to has been able to procde mutliple options. Check out the disabilites board for more info. Lots of gluten free peeps and recommendations over there. Also, I would notate a gluten intolerance on your reservations. This way the restaurant is prepared to have enough gluten free items on hand each meal service.

Anyone have suggestions for gluten-free souvenirs for gluten-sensitive family back home? I don't want to just bring a brand of cookie she could get at home, I was hoping Disney might make something Disney or Mickey-themed that was gluten free? i.e. packaged candy or cookies?
