As the story goes, Steve Wynn, who built the Bellagio, tripped over a stroller in a casino/hotel/lobby area at one time, and decided he wanted no part of that in his newest upscale property.

This is part of the story. If you were a guest at the Bellagio, you could use a stroller, but off the street "looky lou's" could not bring in the wheeled weapons.

The worst is when there is more than one family with across the hall rooms and the kids are constantly running back and forth between the rooms slamming the doors, or opening the doors and yelling across into the other room. Question: how long would you put up with this behavior in your own house And this is one reason we avoid connecting rooms at all costs ~~ four years ago we had a child next door who would NOT stop trying to get into our room until we finally told the parents and they put a stop to it. This included throwing his body against the door to try to get it open

The worst time we had was when the families across the hall had parents rooms and kids rooms. The kids were several rooms away from the parents and knocked on doors, ran the halls at all hours, yelled down the hall 4 doors to their pals, looked into other peoples FE.
We were on deck 2 so we also had the Edge kids too. We were right off the elevator lobby and the door to Edge.
After 2 days of the annoyance I called guest services and asked them to send someone to my room as I had a problem. When he came to the room I asked him to wait a few minutes and he could hear what my problem was. Well... the little monsters starting running and yelling. After they pounded on the door, he stepped out into the hall, spoke to the kiddos and then the parents.
What a different cruise the rest of the week was. The neighbors never said a word to me and the monsters behaved like human children. They were not silent but respectful from that day.
All I ask is that they behave respectfully and allow me to enjoy my vacation too.

It works borth ways. We are usually up by 0500 or 0600 hrs....but we are in bed by 8 or 9 pm and there are just as many doors slamming and yelling in the halls late at night as there is in the early morning.

I remember camping out with the kids in a State Park. In the adjacent camp spot they were drinking and having a good time....and we were trying to sleep. I went over twice to ask them to keep it down. They partied till about 2 am. The next morning my kids and I got up to cook breakfast at 0530 hrs. I suspect they were equally annoyed at the noise we made making breakfast. They were probably hung-over too.

There will always be inconsiderate people in the world. It's one of the little things not worth sweating about.

That is hilarious! Irritating no doubt, but pretty funny.

It isn't just at the Bellagio, he made the Wynn and the Encore like that too. They have signs at every entrance about how strollers are not allowed unless the child is staying at that property. And honestly, it's actually rather refreshing to stay in them as they don't get nearly the heavy traffic the others do, mostly because of that policy (and because they are so far down the Strip).

I completely expect some noise from kids on a Disney cruise. It is, after all, full of kids. But I do expect them to at least behave a bit, and not make tons of noise at 3am in the hall. I guess I'll find out in a month on our first cruise!

I am extremely happy to hear this. Our little one still HAS to have a nap every day, and right around 2 in the afternoon. He's a light sleeper. Our last cruise was just us grown-ups, so I didn't even think about the hallway noise. Glad we threw in the extra bucks for concierge this time. This thread makes me think of the lawnmower that we hear once a week at 6am. Haha. Total nightmare!!

That is going to vary from cruise to cruise. Kids stay in concierge as well.

Like mine! He's only two, and we do our best, of course, but he certainly did not come equipped with a volume control button. But for the occasional tantrum or crying from a boo-boo, I can promise we won't broadcast it from the hallways, haha.

I was usually the one running after the kids yelling "don't run, be quiet, people are trying to sleep"

(And once in a while at Disney we hear someone running after their kids shouting just that)

You're last two sentences. In my Opinion, two wrongs do not make it right. Neither scenarios are little things.

I realize that people like to take food and drink into the theaters, but I couldn't believe the pre-teen kid whose mother brought him a drink and abig, juicy hamburger and fries.... complete with a pile of ketchup, to watch Monsters University in the Buena Vista Theater on our Alaska cruise. That kid had hamburger, onion, roll, ketchup, and fries all over the place when he left the theater. Not to mention the way it smelled! And did his mom or dad lift a finger to clean any of it up? Nope. They left everything there for someone else to clean up.

I know what some will say... they're on a Disney Cruise... that means they should be allowed to be PIGS??

True, but it depends when you were a kid. I grew up in a day when kids were expected to behave..... didn't matter how "excited" we were. We learn life's lessons as children. If we aren't expected to practice appropriate self-control when we're young, we will be those people who cut in line and annoy others as adults as well.

Youthful exuberance is a wonderful thing, but there is a place for noisy fun and a place for quiet fun. Children who learn the difference aren't the subject of this thread's criticism. Those who don't are doomed to grow up to be those annoying adults we all wish weren't on vacation the same time as we are!

if the kids are just running with excitement i could understand it...if they are being rude and annoying that's another thing....

granted; the situation at the pool is worse than the hallways in my opinion...
