I'm a self-professed grammar nazi, and even I am shocked and amazed by the rudeness of the people correcting and complaining about the OP's post. "Good grammar is a form of politeness"? Yes, well so is not criticizing another person's writing skills when that isn't the topic at hand! Get over yourselves! It really isn't about all of you who want us to think you are Rhodes scholars by looking down your noses at the OP. If you can't read it, then move on and leave your snide, worthless commentary unspoken.

OP, I feel for you! You aren't upset that the check-in was 1:30. You were upset that they told you they'd contacted you to check-in 2 hours earlier but had not. That's bad customer service. When you're traveling with a kid who isn't feeling well, that 2 hours makes a BIG difference. I've btdt at Disney. The Contemporary got us checked in at 10:30, and my oldest ended up sick in bed most of the day. It really helped! The point isn't when you checked in, it's that they claimed something they did not do.

Personally, I'm not all that interested in the GF because it has some locations that seem so far from transportation, so I think you've got a valid point. It's the most expensive property, and whether you book 1 person or 200 people, it behooves Disney to give you the same excellence of service.

I'd suggest seeing if you can borrow a complimentary wheelchair from the GF for the 70 year old to assist in covering the distance. You can also rent an ECV or wheelchair in the parks or rent an ECV from an offsite company.

Good Luck!

I hope this can make the OP feel a little better about the GF. We have stayed at the GF many times and obviously love the resort. Big Pine Key is our favorite building because of its location. I am mobility challenged, just had to finally have a total knee replacement, and as I have been dealing with the pain we always requested Big Pine. I think it is less walking for how we do Disney. It could be that the folks at the GF may think this is the case generally and thought they were helping out. I know that it may not be less walking in your case but since it is requested for this reason by many, this may have led to confusion.

This is an online forum, not some Princeton school of grammar.

People need to relax and sit back and enjoy the summer and the fact that its a Friday.

My Goodness. and we wonder why this country is so much in shambles and torn apart.

I don't feel people were being the grammar police when they pointed out that paragraph breaks would have made the large paragraph easier to read. I take it as a helpful hint for the next time they post.

Or the OP could edit to put in some line breaks every now and then. It just makes it easier on the eyes.

Not trying to start anything, but all of you took the time to read it and then criticized the OP. If you were able to read it and make a post about it, you shouldn't be complaining about her grammar.

Since this has turned into a grammar debate instead of a resorts discussion, I think we can end this here.
