Sounds like you have a great trip planned! I remember you from the 2010 Med Cruise - I think my dd played with your girls at the Mickey pool- but more from the Cruise Meet page beforehand! We've been on an Alaskan Cruise on the Wonder and Western turned Eastern Carribean on the Fantasy since then but am really excited to be going back to the Med again this year and not forking out thousands in Air Fare and best of all being back on the Magic. Would have loved the Venice itinerary but the dates didn't work for us so we're doing the 7 day Med on Aug 10th.

On the last Med cruise I had it planned in great detail but it did get very tiring after about a week (and a roasting hot day in Pompeii/Sorrento/Amalfi Coast) we ended up crashing on the day in Rome and despite Colloseum reservations we just stayed by the pool and had a chill out day. I've done far less planning this time and hope to play it by ear a bit .Have booked Can't Be Missed tours in Rome and Naples but am leaving the other ports to do on a DIY 'see how we feel on the day' basis.
Look forward to reading your TR when we get back!

Forgot to say, we also had an inside cabin for the last Med cruise and it was fine- the only thing I didn't like was that when you wake up its hard to tell if its night or day which I found disorientating.....the kids got very confused but it does encourage you not to linger in your room in the morning and get up on deck early for some sunlight. The money saved was put towards excursions instead so definitely worth it!

I am really looking forward to Cinque Terre again, it was just sooo lovely last time but we were not very organised in advance so in a couple of towns we had hardly any time hence my locating and saving the train schedule!

It's great not to have to do the very expensive air fare in addition to the cruise isn't it!

I think a mix of DIY and pre booked excursions is the way to go, I like that we have some days when we will just go with the flow but that in Rome and Naples where we really didn't do much last time we will be hitting the places we really want to see.

I am trying to remember to pack an LED alarm clock so I can see what the time is even in the dark!

Not long to go now. Today I bought a nice little hardback notebook to make my trip notes in

We are back and I am working my way through the 2500 photos from the trip and many video clips!

Days 1, 2 and 3 are now updated with the report and photos. I hope to follow up with some more tomorrow.

We had a fantastic cruise and I am really looking forward to reliving it writing the trip report

I have enjoyed reading about your first few days. It looks like you had a great time. My boys were thrilled to see they had Mickey bars onboard.

Following along I'm loving all these med trip reports - one day we'll get over there and get one under our belt ourselves.

Lovely photos so far. We followed you on to the Magic on Aug 6th and also loved having one of the sideways cabins. We have a 12 nighter booked for next summer so I will be very interested in reading the rest of your trip report. Joy
