Staying for two weeks I'd plan for some time off hanging around the hotel, playing mini-golf, taking out the mouse boats, water parks, and Downtown Disney - and just hanging around the pool. After all, we spend so much money on the hotel, why not spend some time there. The hotel itself is usually more expensive than the cost of tickets.

Well, I talked to a very nice CM in GS and she talked me down from the proverbial ledge. The first two CMs I talked to were feeding me wrong information, telling me they couldn't even book a room or dinning package for more than 10 days. But, the last woman knew her stuff and was super friendly.

I still think it is a bit crazy that they don't sell park tickets over 10 days. There's a 3ish day gap between the 10 day pass and when an AP is really worth your money.

Thanks to everyone for all your support and ideas!!!

The one thing you will learn after you have been to WDW is a few times is that most of reservation CM's are clueless.

True, although they could get 10 day passes on their first package and upgrade that to AP. But if they need DDP, the second package would require a day or two of tickets too which is an unnecessary added cost. Either way, back to back is inconvenient when it's not warranted!

Really - can't bring up the ticket info right now but I always thought the difference came right around 9 or 10 days. What sort of 10 pass are you looking at and are you looking at a regular or Premium Annual Pass?

I think it is at the 11 day mark, if comparing to MYW PH. I think it is 13 days if no hopper. Before MYW, it used to be at 8 days.

I see you are in Canada so did you book a special package that has since expired so they can't "add" to it? You may just have to book 2 days on a different reservation. I am pretty sure Disney wants you to stay as long as possible!! We have stayed on 2 reservations before and have never had to change rooms. In fact they took care of both reservations upon our first arrival.

BTW-Congrats on your upcoming wedding. You will have an incredible honeymoon!

We haven't pulled the trigger yet but we are thinking about staying 12 days and adding the water parks and more bit to our tickets. That way we can spend a day or so doing other activities. Couple that with the fact that we are doing MNSSHP, I'm sure we will be plenty busy.

It is currently $375 for a park hopper 10 day ticket. That is around 38 dollars a day.

Now, let's say that adding two more days would cost that same amount for each additional day. If I could add two more days onto the plan at the 38 dollar rate we would be at $451.

Now, even that is not a full picture, anything over 5 days on the ticket package is only 10 dollars more for each additional day, so if that pricing carried through my 12 day ticket would be $395.

Compare these two numbers to the fact that an AP is $611.31.

Am I crazy or is this a terrible deal?!?

I understand what you are saying, but you can't add anymore days to the 10 day park hopper.

Disneyland does this as well (although I have heard you can add a 6th day on your 5 day park hopper on the 5th day)

The $375 is before taxes (6.5%).

The full price is $399.38 for a 10 day park hopper.

If you were to buy another 2 day park hopper it would be $271.58 totalling $670.96.

To add the Water park & more option, your ticket 10 day PH ticket it would be $422.81

The AP is $611.31

So if you wanted to spend the full 12 days in the parks, the AP is your cheapest option.

If you are okay with going to the water parks, the WP&M option is the cheapest.

FYI with an AP you also get 10% of merchandise, so you could save money there as well if you are big souvinears shoppers.

I have gone to WDW for 12 days before, but we spent 2 days at Universal. If you are looking to save money, go with the WP & M option.

Have a great honeymoon
