I used to substitute occasionally at the small, independent school my daughter attended. It was a 1-8 with 2 classes (1-3 and 4-8), with a total enrollment of maybe 40 students. The art teacher, 'happily' married with 2 kids in the school, started dating the father of another school family (3 kids). Of course everyone knew about it once the wife found out, and it was AWFULLY uncomfortable around there, especially as the directors supported the art teacher (can't figure out why except they are very non-confrontational and peace-loving). Both couples involved ended up divorced, and the school recovered from the scandal. It was pretty awful while it was going on... those 5 kids (of the involved parents) were about 1/8 of the total school enrollment!

When I worked at the bank there was a new guy hired who all f the lady's thought was so good looking. He was a big flirt, and I saw him as a man W#€£3. Anyway, he was in upper management and he was married with kids, but his family didn't live in that area. He drove in over an hour each day, so I think this made him feel safe to cheat.

So everything was fine for a while. He was over departments of the main office and a few of our branches too. It turns out that he had a woman at each office! One husband found out and stormed up to the Presidents office and I think the police had to be called. After that another husband found out about it too. It was a big ole mess! He was fired, couples divorced and it was the talk of the bank for a while. Crazy!!

It is never a good idea to poop where you eat. When things end, they usually always end badly and having to deal with that where you work is just never a good thing.

Another happy office romance here. Wife and I both started in different departments within a week of each other. Met shortly after that and have been married for 15 years (this September), together for 18.

We work for a financial company (over 1500 employees) but it's family owned and there are a number of married couples here. They are very good about making sure neither person reports to the other person.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, bacon in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

Some people are like slinkies, they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs!

I had a workplace romance once. I dated my manager 8 years ago. The store we used to work at is long closed now, and we are still together and going strong!

I worked at one company for about eleven years. One of the special vocabulary definitions there:

Happily married couple -- a couple with both partners married to others

Most of the time it was a open secret

Wow I'm pretty shocked at how common this is. I actually do have a rule. I have never dated anyone or remotely flirted etc., in the office. I am paranoid about it to a certain extent. Plus I just don't think its a good idea. Now we have a small office. If I was in a huge office with multiple floors etc., it may be a bit different. But I think in general its a good idea to NOT date co-workers.
