Would that be why they cancelled Clone Wars?

That and Disney wanted to air SW on their own network instead of Cartoon Network. So they created a new series rather than try to move Clone Wars.

Really interesting move! They'd pulled off the inter-network transplant before with Nickelodeon's Doug and Fox's Power Rangers. BUT, unlike these shows, Clone Wars has a linear storyline that is several seasons in, so unless they started from the very top its younger Disney XD audience would have significant issues attaching themselves to the series, and add to this the high risk of losing a great deal of their CN original fanbase. So I understand the decision from their standpoint! I'll be excited to see what they do with the new series!
