They can't change the price, right?

This is absurd I am even worried. I just got a great rate at the Dolphin, paid in full, not refundable. If it was a mistake on their part, they can't change it when I get there, right? My worry is that the last three days shouldn't have really been at the price I got them for. Just don't want to be stuck at the end.

Yes, I know this is a silly question to ask. Just had to to make myself feel better!

I really don't know but Disney has all kinds of disclaimers in the reservation boilerplate about human error, computer error, etc. - basically allowing them to not honor reservations in some instances. I would be surprised if the Swan/Dolphin don't have the same type of boilerplate - but that doesn't mean they would do anything about it.

If it's a crazy price like $5 a night - then yes I would be concerned. But you didn't give any details so it's hard for anyone to say whether what you have is a good deal or looks like something else.

I don't think Sheraton would change it. Even if it was an error. Bring your printed reservation sheet, I think they have to stick with it. I don't think a major chain would not make you pay more when you arrive. If the clerk does, ask for the manager. But really, I don't think it will happen.

We stayed at a Marriott who's parking charge is $25/day. The morning of check out we got our hotel bill under the door, with any room charges we may have had, and the parking fee. It just goes on credit card and you don't have to stop by the desk. They charged us $5.00 parking in error. We never got an extra bill for the mistake.

They will ask for a resort fee, which is in addition to room rate, and charged when you get there, as well as parking fees if you have a car.

Sorry I was vague. I got it for 129 for 10 nights. I called and was quoted that price yesterday. I called back to book and long story short - no go. Called this morning and was quoted 129, at which time I booked it. I know they have a special for 129 going on right now, but my dates went past the checkout date. So, no. I didn't get it for 5 a night.

If you're check in date is within the $129 promo date, but stay goes beyond end of promo? some hotels will extend the rate for entire stay.

I know exactly how you feel! A few years back, we were going on a vacation to Glacier National Park and I had been faithfully watching the discount hotel sites trying to get a nice place for under $150/night. One day I was surfing my usual sites and a La Quinta came up for $80/night with free breakfast, nice pool, great view, etc. I booked it right away for 3 nights. Within the hour, the price went back up to around $160/night. I was so worried that we were going to get there and they were going to tell me that it was a mistake and that I owed twice as much as I thought, to which my cheapskate self would have told them to stick it in their ear and we would have been without a room. Luckily, everything was fine and the stay was wonderful.

That is what I thought as well. I know they aren't going to say, "Oops. You owe us more." Twenty a night for four nights won't break us. It's just that we decided to give up free dining at POR in favor of the Dolphin and that extra 80 plus taxes would cut into the break even point (not by much, though).

Exclamation I'd say no ...

Good Evening Teacher31,

You know what ... I'll never say never but I highly doubt it! My family and I keep all the print-outs and payment information in a binder we affectionatly refer to as "The Bible" because it has all the answers.

If our hotel was to try and pull something like that we would immediately whip that piece of paper out and start making a fuss. I'm no attorney and I'm sure that there are many others on these boards that are more well versed in the laws than I but what you have amounts to a contract. They looked at their pricing and told you it was X amount for what you wanted and how long you wanted it for ... you paid for it *IN FULL* ... end of discussion.

Bottom line ... NO hotel ... not Disney, not Universal, not Hilton, and not even the $139 per week welfare motel (NO OFFENSE!) wants an angry customer standing in their lobby shouting how they are lieing to people and ripping them off as other clients walk through. In Florida there is NO SHORTAGE of hotels so they need to keep people happy or they won't be in business too long.

Disney is decent 99.9% of the time with their clients and Swan & Dolphin are "Good Neighbor" hotels so I'm sure they carry that Disney standard as well! Relax! Breathe! It'll be okay! If you were staying at a real shotty, shady motel I MIGHT be concenred but Swan & Dolphin are a little more elite than that!

Take Care & Be Safe!

I understand your concern but I would not really worry about it. I booked a large suite room at the Wolf's Lodge in KS about a year before the next big race weekend and was able to get it for less than half of what you would normally pay for that room during a race. I just happen to get it booked before they loaded the codes, about a month later they had the codes in and it was $500 a night.

They did not even bat an eyelash and we had that rate for almost a week.

I would be very surprised if you encountered anything but the resort fee when you arrived (unless they included that in the upfront billing) or parking if you decide to use it. Just keep all your printed receipts (always have a second copy with you - my mother's paranoia - never give your only copy up LOL).

Just for laughs -
I booked a Sheraton room at Des Moines for a meeting last year (?maybe 2009?). Our conference rate was $139 or $149 & I did book that. I went in to check other rates such as AAA & when I put that in the room came up as $11 a night for a DQ in Club Level!!! I booked it to see if it would actually process. Sure enough it did. So I printed both reservations for 3 nights stay - then called the hotel directly & asked to speak to the ressie manager. Told her they definitely had a problem with the system. I faxed her the copies & she asked if I needed both rooms. I said no & asked her to just cancel the extra room. Get this - she cancelled the $140 room!!! She left us in Club Level for $11 a night for 3 nights as she was so happy we had called & reported the data entry problem so they could get it fixed on their website. Talk about customer service!

OP - You should be fine especially for that rate (it's not insane low like $5 a night).

I worked at a high end Marriott at the front desk and has a supervisor and if there was an issue with the system and a customer got a low rate, we honored it. I can't say every business is like this but *generally* a reputable hotel is not going to change your rate on you (especially when you have a hard copy confirmation with the price).

Congrats on the great rate!

Exclamation Why I say it...

"No Offense"

I say it because there are times when people are OVERLY sensitive. I am trying to illustrate a point and sometimes when I do that I make the point in the extreme to try and drive it home.

That is one thing I hate about writing on message boards vs. actually talking to someone is that the readers, you, may have a hard time sensing my tone. So something I say in jest is taken as a full frontal assault and then there are pages of argument going back and forth.

I'm being me on these boards ... I want to talk TO people and not AT them so I try to be as real and as casual as possible ... I think it's more relate-able.

In real life I am R ... on boards like this I am, at best, PG-13.

Take Care & Be Safe!!!

I didn't read it offensively, but yes some might. The first thing I thought of was the motel on the news several years back that had an occupancy rate of about 112%. Those rooms were going by the hour........... For some reason that was just the first thing that popped into my head.
