Hi all! We will be staying at the wilderness lodge for the first time following thanksgiving. checking in on 11/30 My mom61 is joining us for the first time this year and will be using an ECV. Will we be able to use the boats to MK or will we need to use the bus service?

In my opinion, WL is a great resort to use an ECV at. Compact, with everything close by. You will love it. In answer to your question, yes you will be able to use the boat to MK. The only catch is that they run two different size boats, usually every other one. You have to use the larger boat to fit the ECV on. Really, I never found this to be a problem as I don't think I ever waited more than five or ten minutes for the larger boat. Another good thing is that the boat lands right in front of the entrance to MK. I also found the bus service to be great. Although it does share with other resorts, WL is the FIRST stop so you don't have to worry about getting the ECV on.

To be honest, I like having little secrets like this. I know everyone is going to just love it. I had the CM at WDTC send all snail mail to my work address so hopefully no little missives come with the WL brand attached as we get closer to vacation time. I am so devious.
I hope you'll post about their reaction to your devious little secret surprise.

Smile

There's a new DIS video tour of FW! It includes the interior of a cabin, breakfast at Trail's End, a little HDDR, the pool and beach and my favorite - horses and ponies

I'm enjoying the Lodge now. Anyone have any questions I might be able to answer?

Hope you're enjoying! Does roaring forks have a lot of breakfast and lunch options? It used to be not like most deluxe counter places, very low on choices.

We checked in early today. So nice to be home.

We got a great dedicated 1 bedroom at the villas with a great double balcony. I definitely can not complain after all our budget trips over the years. I'm on the balcony enjoying a view of the lake right now.

They did stop by today to let us know that they are replacing the end tables, table, luggage chest and night stands tomorrow. The sofa and other furnishings. looks pretty new so I think they have been replaced recently as well. So it seems like they are doing furniture rehab instead of a full refurb.

The red boats are sharing with the green during the day making it a pain because you have to get to the mk via fw. So we are going to catch the bus to mk instead. Off to Ohana in a few for dinner.

Wish you were all here.

Would you mind posting some photos of the new furniture in the 1 bedroom villa (if it isn't too much trouble?). We hadn't heard they were replacing, so that's a nice surprise! We'll be there September 18th!

Have a great trip....

I've been so busy planning and anticipating our summer trip (staying at CBR) that I haven't been in this thread for awhile. But my ADR date for the Super Surprise WLV trip is this Thursday!

I think I want to make a lunch ADR at Whispering Canyon for the day we do MVMCP. I think that will be a day we spend exploring the resort and maybe doing a tour of the Monorail resorts to see all of the Christmas decorations.

As much as I am looking forward to our summer trip it doesn't even touch the excitement I have to stay at WL and surprise the kids for a Christmas trip. 188 days to go!!!

We plan to spend time exploring the lodge on our Dec trip, too. I would like to do the architectural tour if we can slip it in to our short trip. It might be on Dec 5th, our final day.

Doesn't it just sound heavenly to spend a day poking around the resorts and having nowhere that you have to be!!??
We're just getting to the point now where we've taken enough trips that our pace is changing and we'll relish a few sleep in/shop/wander about days
