My wife wanted purple, too. Maybe they'll add more colors as it goes on. I was happy with the blue, it's a good shade for guys (and women who like darker blues, of course! )

These MB's are making me lose my mind...

My DH texts me this morning (he gets to work before me) with a screen shot of MDE, "Get Ready to Experience MyMagic. Customize Your MagicBands Now." He's over the moon and, quite frankly, so am I! He asked that I call him when I got to work to log on to order.

So I get to work and log on. "Manage your MagicBands" What happened to the customize button? Log off/on. Three times. Nada. Anyone have this happen? Does it just randomly resolve itself?
****************************
Edit: If anyone runs into this problem, just do the online check in again. You don't have to change anything, just cycle through and the MB "Personalize" comes up. At least it did for me!

I just wanted to post this here. We just returned from a week long stay at the WL. We fell in love with it. All the CMs were so nice and really spent time talking to my DD (who talks to everyone, LOL). We lucked out and got room 4020 (a bunk room) with a PERFECT view of the Contemporary, the monorail and the MK fireworks!!!!! Our Aunt had the connecting room 4018 and she had a good view as well, but where our room was hit the break in the trees perfectly and framed the high fireworks perfectly. So anyway I think we are converted to WL lovers now.

People have been successful by modifying their check ins and then trying again. There are a lot of December people discussing the MagicBands on this thread:

Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

Maybe you can get some good advice there.

FWIW, I wasn't able to customize my MB's until two days after the other November guests were able to do it. I call it the "Wilderness Lodge effect" since WL was one of the last resorts to go on line with the MB's. But I hope you can get to customize the MB's today.

Thanks for the update. We found the CM's to be very nice, too. And our lodgekeeper left us cute towels animals.

I would love to have room 4020. We had room 6018 last time and it was a perfect distance from the elevator, but had a closed balcony. I would love to get a room just about the same distance, and seeing the castle and fireworks would be nice, too.

What's a closed balcony? Which rooms have them?

Welcome to the thread and the WL Activity Calendar also lists the current marshmallow roasting times. The calendar is hyperlinked in Post #1. Happy WL trip planning!

Thanks for posting the link. Some of the rooms are missing or when you put in a query it doesn't always have an answer, but the link can give you a general idea of some room type locations and is fun to play around with.

With the popularity of Zombie movies/shows, maybe Disney could market a Zombie-based defective resort fridge horror movie...

Dearest goofynut:

I'm happy to read that your DH is back to work!! Does this mean you're back to planning? Mine retuned the 7th, but now that back-pay is assured, he would have much rather stayed home AND been retroactively paid, but who wouldn't?

Thanks for posting about your recent WL stay. When will you be able to go back "home?"

This refers to the railing being solid so that you have to be standing to see over the balcony since you can't see through it. All of the 7th floor (CL) rooms have them and some of the 6th floor.

See-through balcony railing:

Solid balcony railing:

The tree usually is put up around the 13th, so you should see some decorations when you're there.

That's great! I love reading about other people having a great time at WL too. It is a very special place.

The rooms on the top floor of a given section have an enclosed or "dormer" balcony that is recessed into the roof line, like this:

The rest of the rooms have open balcony railing, like this:

The enclosed balconies are generally on the 6th floor for the Eastern-most section of the wings, and the 7th (Club Level) floor for the rest of the resort. There are a few other exceptions though, like the Standard view 4th floor rooms above the registration desk which have enclosed balconies as well.

Can you request open balcony? Can woods view north side 5th floor see Wishes?

Yes and yes. How good the view of Wishes is depends on where the room is in relation to the trees, and some have posted room numbers with better Wishes / MK views.

Hello all! My family and I will be staying at WLV for the first time In Jan and we are so excited! But can anyone answer my question or point me in the right direction.... Do any of the studios have a view of Wishes? Or can someone recommend a studio with a good view?
Thanks!
