Yes, I think my chance of getting a Haunted Mansion bag next week is extremely slim. I'm going to look around though, you never know what might happen. I read on Disney Parks Blog that at a later date they will be sold online. Congratulations to your wife on getting her bag!

Looking at WDWKook's map of the CL, am I right in thinking that no room is really that far from the lounge?

As it's my first stay at the WL CL I'm not familiar with the room locations, has anyone any recommendations for a nice 'quiet' room but still not far from the lounge? I'll be spending quite a bit of time at the WL relaxing.

Thanks

Thank you! I think that's what I heard before too. I am not too worried about it, but thought if there was something extra special to request or something to completely avoid I should check. Usually my biggest concern with room request is location as we mostly stay at mods and don't want to be stuck in the far corners of the resort. WL and VWL are so compact in comparison I think we'll be happy anywhere

You're right about the peacefullness of WCC when it's still dark out. It looks like how I imagine V&A all the time

to the DIS and a big HOWDY to you from everyone at the WL/VWL thread. We hope this will be your first post of many here on the DIS. How lucky that you get to return to WDW one month later. How is your trip going?

I just checked with WDW reservations and the IT group this morning. They seemed to confirm that Magic Bands and FP+ are going live for all resorts by 11/1. Most late October reservations should now be showing Magic Bands.

I'm checking into Fort Wilderness in October, and sure enough, Magic Bands and FP+ were added overnight.[/COLOR]
Thank you for posting this for everyone concerned about their MBs. Are you in a FWC next month? We'd love a review!

I'm going to be Disneybounding as Belle and Snow White and both outfits are already wrinkled without time to iron before I leave...
You're not going to straighten your hair with the iron, are you? We'd love to see a photo of your costume. Happy haunts and packing.

We're staying in a VWL studio in December. Is there any location that is better to request than another? Does anyone know what the views from the studios are? I am fine with anything really, but I was curious.
Here is the map from the first page:

Some like to request a Woods View Studio facing Bay Lake. While there isn't much of a lake view through the trees, it is peaceful. These are the rooms that front Bay Lake:

Oooo lightning - great shot, I love those nighttime photos - thank you. We're going to miss yours and Paul's daily live photo fix. Speaking of photos, do you have one of the cool bag?

We did Typhoon Lagoon then Headed in to MK for Be Our Guest. It was great, but since our dinner ended after the MNSSHP started we were escorted out to the carousel, then pointed towards the exits. Then we did a tour of monorail resorts before heading back home to WL.

Here are some sunrise pictures from this morning. We will be headed to Ohana for breakfast in a little bit. We just can't believe how much we love the lodge, and the longer we spend here the less we want to stay anywhere else. The question is can we do it next year...

I was a little hesitant to post it after the spider scare a few weeks ago, but he was friendly and kept to himself. (The boat spiders have been fine by the way, we have ridden a lot of boats and have not seen a single spider).
That's my secret balcony (and my favorite armadillo). Loving the photos! FWIW for the arachnophobes, I've ridden the boats MANY times and don't recall the spiders at all. I'm sure they are there, but we just have never noticed them. I've seen many armadillo, but usually very early in the morning or out jogging in FW. Like the saying goes, they're more scared of us then we of them. They're such cute oddities.

You need to start your planning for 2014 now while you're still there. You can always change your mind (ummm, I've been known to do that a time or two), but you'll feel better if you start a WDW rough draft now. Oh, I'd love an honest BoG dinner review if you get a chance.

I've been reading along but not posting this year. Thanks to everyone who has shared pictures and trip reports it has helped to keep me sane as we have dealt with selling our house, building a new house, and moving half way across the country. Good news is we now only have an 8 hour drive to WDW! Last week I told DH I was going to go nuts if we didn't get away so I booked a last minute trip to Wilderness Lodge. Can't wait to get back to our happy place next Friday!

GrandCalifornian, R2JD, KOOK Great pictures!! Thanks for sharing!
Welcome back and congratulations! You're practically next door now and will have to book a BB. I hope you'll be able to report to us live

I found lots of information on the D&B HM bag with photos HERE.

It was just released yesterday, (great job, Mrs. JD). It isn't a limited edition, but in its first "order", it's available in limited quantities. This implies it will be available in larger quantities soon. It is available at these locations:

Tren-D and the World of Disney Store in the Downtown Disney Marketplace

Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom Park

MouseGear at Epcot

Keystone Clothiers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Summer Lace at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

That's correct, according to the Disney Parks Blog article I hyperlinked to, there is only one HM D&B bag for sale at this time.

You are right, no STD CL room is far from the lounge. The only rooms that are far are the Deluxe rooms that are only on floors 1-6, none are on the 7th.

We prefer the room that is the furthest from the lounge in the South Wing (7127). It is next to the Pres. Suite with no room on one side. However, it does have an elevator and housekeeping door behind the headboards. The walk to the lounge from that room is only about 30 seconds.

The rooms in the North Wing are a bit further since you have to walk over the lobby area below and through some of the CL seating area to get to the lounge. The lounge is on the South Wing side of the floor which is also where the lobby elevators and concierge desk is. There is little to no foot traffic near the room we love. You might like being in the South Wing with a WL Courtyard View.

Fantastic thank you looks like I'll be requesting a South Wing WL courtyard view

Kook,

Thanks for the comments on the pics. I have been wanting to capture lightning and what better place to do that than on Bay Lake! I have a couple of others that turned out but I figured this isn't a lightning thread.

Thanks for posting the info about the D&B HM bag. We are doing a Lodge lounge day and it would have taken me forever to have done what you did from our phone. Here is a pic of DW's bag:

We are just waiting to go rent a boat and head out on Bay Lake.

Enjoy the boat! We are hitting multiple parks for our last full day. Right now we are on a bus for AK. Also discovered that the AK bus from Poly stops at WL, then GF, then Blizzard Beach and finally AK.

We totally agree, what better place to play with a camera than WL. It is cool to have a group of fans to share the pictures with too. . Sifting through all the shots will make returning home almost bearable.

We are glad that you enjoy the pics and updates. We thought we wouldn't be able to come back next year, and we still might not be able to, but it is only $200 to reserve free dining again with the bounce back...

We will have a thorough review in our upcoming TR, but we loved BOG. I had the strip steak with garlic butter and it was one if the better steaks I have ever had. Melissa's pork roast was delicious too. The desserts were amazing, with two top notch cupcakes. We thought it was a great deal as far as Disney dining goes, as the bill would have only been $86 for the three of us. The theming was great and made it a fun experience. Akershus had better food in our opinion, but a
Considerably higher price (although it also had characters). Overall we would definitely go back.

We arrived around noon today, and I am embarrassed to say I was crying happy tears as I entered the lobby. Wow! What a beautiful resort! We got checked in quickly. Or room wasn't ready yet, so we popped in Roaring Forks for lunch. I had the beef and bleu sandwich and carrot cake cupcake, both were delicious! the cucumber salad was really good as well. The baby shared with me, and agreed, it was all very yummy. We are just having a relaxing day now, the baby is napping and my beret half took the older kids to the pool, then we are going to WCC for dinner later.

Don't be embarrassed. The first time I took my kids to WDW, I bawled on multiple occasions.
