It is sunrise, but the "glow" must be the lights from the TTC. The way the clouds lit up was interesting. You can see the sun starting to light the East side in the other pic which was taken at the same time.

It actually popped up on the screen. But then to the side when that was closed it had personalize magic bands.

I am sorry if this has already been answered somewhere, I haven't been able to find it.
We're staying in a VWL studio in December. Is there any location that is better to request than another? Does anyone know what the views from the studios are? I am fine with anything really, but I was curious.

GrandCalifornian - Awesome pics! Allie - nice dress, crown, and shades! Rocking it like a Rockstar!

Today we dropped in to MK at rope drop and we scored DW a Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke bag. The store only had 25 of the 70 available. Then we spent the day in Epcot and had dinner at Via Napoli. Amazing pizza!!! We left to go to HS and changed our minds as the traffic was INSANE trying to get in there, so we decided to head over to DTD and then back to the Lodge.

A few pics from tonight

Congratulations on scoring the bag! Well done. Nice pics too.
We did Typhoon Lagoon then Headed in to MK for Be Our Guest. It was great, but since our dinner ended after the MNSSHP started we were escorted out to the carousel, then pointed towards the exits. Then we did a tour of monorail resorts before heading back home to WL.

Lol, so I picked up Melissa's phone and posted as her. Oh well, now she isn't so anonymous.

You're right. Thanks. I am going to head over now and schedule them. It is weird because the fastpass selections start on my arrival day but extend way past deep into November. I wonder what that means.

Here are some sunrise pictures from this morning. We will be headed to Ohana for breakfast in a little bit. We just can't believe how much we love the lodge, and the longer we spend here the less we want to stay anywhere else. The question is can we do it next year...

The second two were from the fifth floor public bear face balcony.

I also met an Armadillo in the courtyard.

I was a little hesitant to post it after the spider scare a few weeks ago, but he was friendly and kept to himself. (The boat spiders have been fine by the way, we have ridden a lot of boats and have not seen a single spider).

The villas views probably don't vary quite as much as the main lodge. The Villas building is pretty much surrounded by trees, but I know some rooms overlook the Hideen Springs pool. Hopefully someone with more Villas experience can add on with more info and Studio locations. Enjoy your trip!

We arrive next Friday and I'm really hoping that the Haunted Mansion Dooney & Burke bags are still available! Which bag did your wife get?

Really enjoying the pictures you are posting. The lightning picture is really interesting.

GC, ah... the "can we do it next year" conundrum. We caught the WDW bug back in 2000 and have been 17 times since. There have been some comparatively lean years in there where we had to "settle" for something less than the resort we desired. Also there have been some times when we wish we could have gotten back sooner but schedules would not allow it, even if the bank account did. However every single vacation has been nothing less than tremendous and magical. As my own kids are thisclose to being grown and gone now, I am so glad I have invested time and treasure in building Disney memories. I can't wait to see how WL becomes part of the big picture for me

I have enjoyed the pics you and others have been posting recently. It just makes me all the more stoked for my own trip in 11 days.

Welcome! The bunks are scattered throughout the resort and there isn't a room-type map available to the public. You can still put in your request for a Bear Face room or a room that directly faces the courtyard and if a bunk isn't available, the Room Assignor will have to ignore the request. Maybe you could put another request in along with it in case your first request can't be fulfilled.

I will definitely be checking in here with you guys periodically and (if I can figure out how to) will attempt to post pictures as well.
Are you there yet? Are you there yet? How is our Lodge?

Howdy, Eric! It's funny how when you can't have something, you want it more, just like a kid. Keep trying and don't give-up

Hi Everyone!
Next Saturday morning I'll be waking up at our home away from home - Wilderness Lodge!

I've been reading along but not posting this year. Thanks to everyone who has shared pictures and trip reports it has helped to keep me sane as we have dealt with selling our house, building a new house, and moving half way across the country. Good news is we now only have an 8 hour drive to WDW! Last week I told DH I was going to go nuts if we didn't get away so I booked a last minute trip to Wilderness Lodge. Can't wait to get back to our happy place next Friday!

GrandCalifornian, R2JD, KOOK Great pictures!! Thanks for sharing!

Hello. There is only one Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke bag that we know of. As far as we know they sold out fast. We were told by the supervisor of the store we got it at that there were only 70 bags for all of WDW. The MK store had 25, Epcot's Mouse Gears had 6, and a store we asked at in HS had 10. We heard that others were available at GrandFloridian, DTD, and not sure where else.

We do not know when or how many more they will have for sale.

Thanks! I am still learning how to use our new camera. I took a whole bunch of Bay Lake shots last night trying to capture the lightning and of course I missed most of the good lightning flashes. That was one of my better lightning shots.

Melissa should open an Etsy shop to sell some of her wonderful creations. Hope you can find a way to make a trip next year happen. Enjoy your family trips to "Mickey's Big House" while Allie is young!
