We have used wine lanyards over the years. They work quite well. One DD actually worked it with those tiny glasses that the pours come in.

Any things I should know about going to see a band you really care about at this event? Anyone see them play at F&W Festival before? Do people dance? Advice about what time to go get seats if you really want to be up front? How long to bands typically play?
I have been to the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Eat to the Beat Concerts at the F&W before, and more than once. I also managed to catch them locally a few weeks ago. They are GREAT! Glad you can head down for them. You will want to get there an hour early if you want to have a chance of being near the front. There isn't dancing up near the stage, and if you wanted to dance at the back or off to the side, you might be alone, but I don't think anyone would mind.

As a hint, each of the three daily sets, particularly for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is unique--at least for any given day. I haven't watched all sets for multiple days, though, so given these guys repertoire, I would not be surprised if they never repeated a song during their 2-3 days on stage at Epcot.

Have a great time! I am so sad that I am missing them at F&W this year.

At the booths for Flower and Garden, there was a special "Tasting Adventure" set of choices for kids. It might be fun for the mommies to get together and come up with a tasting adventure for the kids, so that they can sample different foods. Maybe make a game of it or some sort of scavenger hunt.

And SHARE!!!!! If you want taste as much as possible the portions should be tiny. We have found that the portions are sharable for at least a taste, among four adults. So, keep that in mind if you want a broad experience.

For Mommy Night (hoo-rah for Mommies)--I highly recommend more of a sip and stroll. Grab something yummy often enough to avoid deleterious effects of the libations, make sure you get to watch Illuminations--and have a designated driver. A bus driver will do. You can always wander out the International Gateway to the Boardwalk Resort, call a Daddy for a ride, or get a taxi if you have no other options.

I think I am going to try that! A couple of stitches to make the opening the right size and, voila, it should work like magic!

Does anyone have a good source for the little trays/plates that have a hook like construct for holding stemware?

EttB Concert Dancing

The best time I had dancing to one of the EttB concerts was when the Pointer Sisters were playing. There was a crowd on the sidewalk behind the seating area (sound is still great outside the amphitheater seating) dancing and singing away, including the elderly pin booth CM! It was incredibly fun.

I would recommend checking out the options in the Chase Lounge (third floor of the American Pavilion this year), if you can get in, for early seating options. Then I would plan on maybe getting a seat for the first show, 'dancing in the street' for the second, and play it by ear for the third. Best of all worlds!

Keep in mind we do not have any confirmation that the Chase folks will be giving out the concert wrist bands this year.... We should know on or about 9/28 or so

Oriental Trading Company and Amazon.com are sources, as well as eBay and other online stores. For permanent re-usable plates, search under "melamine cocktail plates with stemware holders". Or just search for "cocktail plates" under Google Images and you will find tons of the disposable variety.

They sold them at the festival last year.

Do those plates really work well with festival wine glasses though? I could swear I read somewhere on here that the wine is sold in short plastic glasses that are pretty different from your standard long-stemmed wine glass, and so wouldn't fit on plates like that?

(I could be completely off, here)

No they don't. The sample glasses are too small.

Hi All,
We are hoping to visit Epcot this October but a Saturday (19th) is our only option. The idea of F&W is appealing to us adults and my 7 year old would be tolerant but more interested in the World Showcase.

My question is this -- if we decide to go back to our resort during the afternoon to escape the crowds, is it possible we would not be able to re-enter for Illuminations later that Saturday night? Does Epcot ever reach capacity on F&W weekends?

TIA!

No... you'll be fine. Capacity is only reached usually on major holidays like New Year's Eve...

That is supposed to be a crowded weekend, but in 13 years at the event, I've never heard of it reaching capacity. I would have liked them to close the gates a few times, but...

It gets crowded but not even close to capacity. I'm not sure Epcot has EVER reached capacity. Does anyone know if it has?

When people say "really crowded", what kind of waits are we talking about at the booths? We're planning to head over there on a Saturday night in late October, since MNSSHP is on at MK and its not one of our party nights, but if its going to be so busy we can't even buy anything I might rethink it.
