Iced Tea

Anyone else annoyed that they don't have brewed iced tea on Deck 11? I cannot drink the 'tea' from the soda machine - it has to be brewed. The only places I could get it on the Fantasy last week were the MDR's or room service. With as many Southern customers as they have, you would think they would have an iced tea available 24 hours a day!

You could always brew your own hot tea at the drink station and them pour it over a glass of ice. Wouldn't that work?

I have to say that no brewed Iced Tea surprised me when I read it. Brewed iced tea is my drink of choice (and not difficult at all to make - cheaper too). I refuse to drink the artificial stuff.

I also read they don't have fresh brewed coffee? Is that true? Or maybe I just read that the coffee wasn't very good?

To solve both issues, I'm going to bring Starbucks Via onboard with me. I'll bring the refreshers for cold drinks (in the packets - add to water) and I'll bring Via coffee packets and ask for a carafe of hot water. Then I'll stick to water I guess.

There is not fresh brewed coffee at the drink stations. It's made from some sort of concentrated goo. That being said, it really is ok considering the source and origin (that may be "damning by faint praise"........ ).

If you want some "real" coffee, you can go to the Cove Cafe', where you can get it made custom for you. I went there every day for a frappe'latte'doublemochamacaitta something or other that I couldn't get anywhere else. But it does cost a few bucks. But worth it.

Yes it would be nice to have some unsweetened ice tea at the beverage station. I am not a fan of the "tea" and "punch" from the soda machine. I also wish apple juice would be available all day too at the drink station for DD. Yes I know it's available through room service but who wants to stay in their room waiting for drinks when there is so much fun going on

Why not just fill up a waterbottle at breakfast time and keep it in your fridge in the room?

There was a time when they didn't even have brewed tea in the MDRs, so I am thankful for that.

I drink a LOT of iced tea and just make my own very easily.
I make hot tea from tea bags and pour over ice. Voila! Brewed iced tea!

It really wasn't a big deal - I was just surprised that it wasn't offered 24 hours a day and I ended up drinking way too much Coke!

To answer the questions - yes, you can technically pour the hot water over ice and make the tea, but it doesn't taste right. You are supposed to let the hot water cool before drinking and keep the tea bag in for awhile. I also can't imagine making iced tea with Twinings! That's way too fancy - I prefer Luzianne but also like Lipton. With a lot of Disney guests coming from the southern states, I thought they would try to cater to their needs a little more. They have all the fancy hot teas, but not something so basic as iced tea. I ended up ordering a few glasses from room service and just keeping them in the fridge during the day. Definitely didn't affect the wonderful time on the cruise - I just found myself a little dehydrated at times from drinking so much soda

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused so you can get iced tea on board but just not on Deck 11?

You can only get the tea out of the soda machine (brand is Fuze) at the 24 hour drink stations and Cabanas. Real brewed iced tea is only available in the MDRs and from room service.

YES!

I thought there wasn't any ice tea.

All is right in the world again.
