New Fantasyland Disappointed??

My family just got back from WDW. Sadly I couldn't go along because I am a student and still had classes. Although, I am looking forward to going back to WDW after graduation!! I was really excited to hear about the new fantasyland, but according to my family it was nothing but a big disappointment. Does anyone else feel this way? or is my family just crazy?

I sorta felt this way with Enchanted Tales w/ Belle and UtS-JotLM but I'm also a parent to two teens. It's not that they were bad but I was just a bit underwhelmed. That said, I'm reserving judgment until it's really complete (with the Mine Train!), which looks like something else.

My kids are teens, and boys..we took it for what it was. We enjoyed the theming, just fantastic !!! The Mermaid ride was cute, but for little kids..the que was beautiful and I am glad we saw it. We walked around and enjoyed it for the beauty and story..rides...meh ! I did really like the Belle gift shop, some new , nice merchandise. If you tour it, look at the details and the thought that went into it....and go back when you have little kids or grandkids !

Mileage will vary depending on every individual's expectations, but I was not disappointed at all. I thought everything looked great, especially considering it's not finished yet.

I can't wait to see it for myself. but I dont think that will be until 2016 when I am finally finished school thinking about the trip gives me something to look forward to and helps me work harder haha! I am a huge disney princess fan so I'm sure I will LOVE it! I am hoping to *try* to have dinner at the Be Our Guest restaurant

Seeing it through the eyes of my 4 year old daughter, I loved it, because it's all very much geared towards the younger set. If it were just me, though, as an adult, there probably wouldn't be a lot to hold my interest, at least in terms of the attractions there (perhaps that's why it's the one place in the MK you can get alcohol? ). Even with that said, though, it's all very well-done from a theming standpoint, regardless of whether or not you get into the attractions.

I loved it.

I supose it's the same as everything else at WDW, different strokes for different folks.

I honestly cannot imagine how anyone could be disappointed with the new Fantasyland (even though it is not finished as of yet). The area is filled with amazing details, both big and small, and experiences. I spent most of my time there than any other section of the park during my trips in both February and April. I'm really surprised to hear this.

While I do wish there was a true E ticket attraction in NFL, I am quite happy with how it's turned out so far. Once the Mine Train opens, it will be even better!

I think it's fantastic! The only thing I find disappointing is how crowded it always is

I was surprised to hear it as well. I've seen pictures of it online and it looks amazing!! My family just said there wasn't much there...just the dumbos, the new restaurant and the little mermaid ride. I was confused...I know there has to be more to it. I think they just somehow missed it?

Wink

I thought the New Fantasyland was really pretty. It also has opened up what used to be a tight space. However, I found the Little Mermaid ride was a disappoinment at least to me. Cute but not worth waiting in a long line for. The Que was extremely well themed. I too am reserving complete judgement until the Mine ride is complete.

Would love to give my thoughts on Enchanted tales w/Belle. It was closed when I was there. I will go back and try it. Wanted to eat lunch at BOG but there was a long line at 10:00 am. I didn't get into the circus section just didn't have time.

I think that little kids will adore this area. I'm not sure yet but it is a beautiful area. Oh and I want everything that's glass in the Beauty and the Beast shop. None of the plates were there.

They missed a lot - Belle's cottage, Gaston's tavern, the new BatB shop, the whole water play area and the circus tents near Dumbo.

The best ride in the area is not open yet,my opinion of the area now is that the best thing in it is the Be Our Guest restaurant, when your favorite attraction is a restaurant then I'm obviously underwhelmed with it.When they open the 7DMTC I'll like the area better.
