We're starting out this trip with Epcot (as we have done before) but it just doesn't feel like Disney until we have walked down Main Street!

I visit whichever has the lowest crowd level on my first day. Always. No matter which park it is. So I couldn't vote in your poll

I agree with other posts that say it depends -- that said, I voted for HS just because I love riding RnRC at the start of my trip! Also, I'm able to get HS out of the way in the morning and head to a larger park later in the day...

We visited MK first on our first trip and will be on this trip as well. Our favorite park is Epcot, but to us MK is Disney, so it has to be first!! I need to see the castle!

But I should add that we have hoppers and will be visiting Epcot the same day just because we love it.

The OP forgot to mention the importance of Star Wars at HS.

We visited Hollywood Studios first.

My son was upset that there was soooo much princess stuff for his sister, including special character meals, so we decided he got first go choosing what we did. We signed up for Jedi Training and did Star Tours as our very first ride and had a much happier boy.

For our 10 year old son, Epcot the first day is a must!

But you quoted my obvious distraction while typing out my response. Now people might know I'm not perfect.

One school of thought in years past was that with children, it was wise to *not* visit MK first. The thinking was that after having visited MK, the other parks would be a disappointment because they weren't filled with characters and fantasy and the like.

However, now that most of WDW has become an extended Fantasyland, this is less of an issue.

I voted MK but in honesty it depends on what day we want to go in and which park has morning magic hours. We do let the magic hour schedule dictate which park we go to on which day. I am one of those people who can't tolerate standing in line for more then 20min and doing this way we can usually do each park with no or minimal wait.

Its really strange to say this, but even though our kids are 17/16 and way beyond the child-oriented stuff, and we're not what many would call a big-time Disney family outside our WDW trips, I think it would seem a little strange if we didn't go to Magic Kingdom first. And that's from someone who plans to spend two days in Epcot!

I was planning our trip this year, which we suspect will be our last for a good while, and originally the way things fell out we were going to be in Hollywood Studios the first day. And the more I looked at that, the goofier (no pun intended) that seemed. Then our schedule changed some, we got an extra day up front, and Day 1 is now MK. All seems right

But when we DO hit Epcot later in the week, I may take a swan dive in the middle of some fish and chips at Yorkshire!

It really depends on what fits into our schedule the most, but I personally prefer Magic Kingdom on the first AND the last day.
It's really my favorite, with the castle and all. It's classic!
