Food at LTT?

I just saw a mention on the MNSSHP thread that there's a special Halloween event happening at LTT. We've never eaten there, and I'm finding mixed reviews on the food. But... I'm a sucker for anything Halloween. So what do the DIS board gurus think about the food at LTT? If it matters we're 2 adults, but I'm a picky-er eater than most children.

We've had lunch and dinner at LTT, and we like it. It has good food and the theming is great. I think even picky eaters could find something there.

Go... I loved it there for dinner. It was very good thanksgiving style food. Very charming atmosphere as well. Going back on my August trip.

We really enjoy the food at LTT - honestly I like they bring it to you and I don't have to think about what to order. I am always up for Thanksgiving type food!

Love their a la carte selections at lunch.

The pre-plated family stlye "Thanksgiving" meal is, for me, hit and miss. Some of it's very good, some just OK. None of it's bad, IMHO...so you should be OK there.

For a special event...I'd definitely do it. Sort of like we do Chef Mickeys not for the food, but for the character meet and greet.

There is another thread about this that seems to indicate that it's open during MNSSHP, but not with anything different than before the party or on non-party nights.

If it's the same experience with nothing added, I'd skip the dinner meal. The food is reminiscent of a meal you could pick up from the deli & frozen food sections in a super market, then microwave to cook or warm. If you've ever been to Cracker Barrel, it's similar food. I happen to think even Cracker Barrel is better. If they ever decide to bring back the characters on party nights, it would be worth considering for that reason only. It is a good restaurant for picky eaters who prefer basic, bland food.

Love lunch at LTT, but dinner was dreadful...like a PP said, resembled pre-packaged stuff like Stouffer's (didnt they used to flat-out say the mac and cheese was Stouffer's like it was a selling point?).

We also ate there before the halloween party, early like 4:30. We like LTT a lot. Basic, stick to your ribs kind of food. Haven't done lunch in a couple of years but we loved that too. The colony salad and toffee cake dessert were awesome!

OP, forgive me if I add a question to your question.

I have read so many mixed reviews about LTT dinner, including many where the people say the food isn't great quality. These are concerning me a bit.

Can I ask, is the meat freshly craved, or is it that rolled, pressed-style meat that doesn't have the same texture as something that's just been carved off the bone?
Also, I can tell from pictures that the Mac Cheese is fairly processed, but what about the mashed potato? Does it taste like it has been made from whole potatoes or powdered ones?

I think if it turns out that everything is processed, I will try to change my reservation to somewhere else. Thanks for your time.
