Wow! I'm glad the police got there in time. After all these woman have been through, I can't imagine how this story would have turned out if the police weren't able to get there in time.

The next available police officer would be sent to her.

Really? Someones screaming they have been kidnapped and just got free.
Send the next available officer? (I say hogwash to that)
Which could have been too late and this might not have had this ending.

I really didn't care for the 911 operator. Didn't seem to care really.

I was surprised the operator didn't stay on the line until the police arrived. I thought that was standard practice.

I don't understand what the problem is. The operator said she was sending the next officer. A dispatcher can't teleport an officer to the scene nor can they produce one out if thin air if non are available.

Fwiw, I think the operator should have stayed on the phone... But I don't know their policies what else was going on.

Wow!

It must be amazing for the families to find out that the girls are alive after all this time!

My thoughts and prayers are with the girls and their family!

A little reassurance by the operator would have been nice. It worked out so it is all good, but I just felt she could have been a little less cold.

I don't see any issue (though I have not HEARD it, is that what is giving some of you these feelings? Is there a tone I am missing?).

I would imagine that it would take a moment to really process and get up to speed for the 911 officer. PLUS, sadly, this would almost sound like a prank call and they DO get those a lot and they cannot just pull an officer away from something else that is really happening to go instantly to every most likely it's a prank call. It sounds like they were trying to get info that they could use later to track if needed (her name, his name, what he was wearing) and they got officers there pretty fast.

That's how I felt about the tone. Non caring, cold, matter of fact. And surprised she didn't stay on the line.

I agree. It felt to me like he was dismissive when he should have been asking her if she's safe right now, etc. She kept trying to give him info and he didn't seem to want it. "Talk to the police when they get there." You could almost hear him thinking "Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before." I don't think he'll be getting any commendations for his handling of that call I'm sure.
