Resort pool question

Hi All!

We are planning a trip to wdw with friends but we will be staying at different resorts. Will it be possible to visit each other at our respective pools? I know the kids would love some time to swim together! Thanks!

Pool hopping is a BIG NO-NO! If you want the kids to swim together maybe you could all meet at one of the water parks?

If you stay at POR and POFQ, then you could do it. They are sister resorts and you're allowed to pool hop. I think you can do the same thing at the three All Stars. YC and BC share a pool, so you'd also be OK there. Those are the only exceptions that I can think of that would stay within Disney rules.

If questioned, explain the situation. If the pool isn't crowded it will likely work out. If not (they so no, or the pool is busy), smile and move on. Perhaps have another activity planned.

If you're going at a slow time and ask the lifeguard on duty, you may be allowed to. I wouldn't try it at some of the more popular deluxe resort pools (Stormalong Bay at Beach Club/Yacht Club would be a definite NO, as probably the Poly would be). But if one of you is staying at the All-Stars or Pop or even a Moderate like CSR, I think the answer would likely be yes. Resort IDs are checked more often at the deluxe resorts than the others.

But in general, as stated above, pool-hopping is not allowed. If you're the guest of a resort guest, you might get permission. The policy is in effect so that all pools are not wide open to all Disney resort guests at will.

Here is the big picture. Pools are meant only for the patrons staying at the resort.

People have reported, if times are slow, that you may ask the lifeguards if you can join the other party. They may or may not say yes. In addition, some of the more popular deluxe pools have access only by room key.

You may find additional info on the sticky at the top of the page re: pool hopping.

I agree that it really is up to the Lifeguards. I had friends who were at FW while we were staying at AKL> It was not busy so the lifeguard siad the visit was fine. I rather doubt that wouldhave been the answer at SAB. I thnk that it never hurts to ask.

at the pool closest to the cabins is a community pool (quiet). quiet pools do not have lifeguards except for the values.
now in the campgrounds is a much newer pool - it has slides and lifeguards. it was build to kept FW guests away from WL. when disney did away with pool hopping (except for sister resorts & dvc members)

If the lifegaurd allows it, it is OK. We have done this. My sister was staying at Poly and we were staying at ASM. We were permitted to use the pool at Poly. It was a very slow time and very few people at the pools.
