What sailing and what date did you chose? You can also meet people for your sailing date on the Meet & Greet along with maybe participating in the FE. (fish extender - gift exchange) You will love your cruise

Welcome to Disney cruising! Be warned - it's addictive. We are going on our 3rd DCL cruise next week and we are even more excited than we were for the first one because we know what a great time we are in for! I'm sure you'll love it!

Welcome aboard!!!! This is the best place you could be - so much information to be found here on the DISboards, as well as so many great people always willing to answer questions and help out.

1st thing to remember is there is no such thing as a stupid question - ask away...

I would start here:

Have fun!!!

I am wondering about prepaying gratuities, how do I do that?
Also online check in, why can't I do it until February ?
Photo packages, how do I purchase them?
Alcohol, what am I allowed to bring on board?
Castaway 5k any info on that? How do I sign up?

Sorry for all the questions I'm just excited n need help
Thanks again!

1. You can prepay your gratuities before you sail by either having your TA take care of it or by calling DCL. Or you can pay them at the end of your cruise with any other charges you may have.
2. New cruisers can't complete online check in until 75 days before your sail date. It is based on your Castaway Club status and after you sail the first time you will be silver and will be able to check in next time at 90 days out.
3. Photo packages can be purchased onboard from Shutters or I think you can prebuy credits towards photo packages.
4. You can bring on as much alcohol as you think you will drink on the cruise BUT you must carry it on. It cannot be put in your checked baggage.
5. I don't know. Sorry

We are sailing on our first cruise on October 10th. We are worried because we don't know what to expect. We have always been at the parks where we can run and stay busy.

Which cruise and how long have you booked? We did a land and sea, 4 days with 1 park hopping day with 3 day Dream cruise and it was the busiest 3 days I can remember! I think you will happily be running around...

Castaway Cay 5K will be noted in your Personal Navigator the night before you dock at Castaway Cay. It will tell you what time and where to meet on the ship. At that time, you'll sign up, receive your bib, and then walk as a group from the ship to the starting line.

After that, it's up to you. DH ran most of it, while I walked most of it, but we both finished, saw some of the island that we probably wouldn't have otherwise, and now have the pleasure of saying "We did it"

Hope this helps!

This thread is long, but also a great place to find cruise tips: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1380936

One poster was kind enough to make a document that summarizes a lot of it, but I would still recommend reading the full thread if you have time.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...TnQeDYrkA/edit

Enjoy your cruise!

Another great thing to do is go to the Trip Report threads.
Also, there are some posters who have their trip reports in their signatures...

I think you will be very busy and become obsessive...which is so much fun while planning your cruise
