I jump right in but usually dont hit my stride to the next day, but I dont do anything until in room, unpack and unwind
I usually arrive well before room check in time, leave my bag with the bell boys and off I go. They call me when my room is ready. It's amazing what a nice tip and a smile and compliment to the girls at the front desk can accomplish.

Us too. As for the question, depends if it is a destination type trip, or a road trip with multiple stops. If a destination, usually a trip to the grocery store and a pizza (sit down or takeout), then the pool or beach for the remainder of the night.

We usually arrive early and if the room is ready we put the suitcases in the room and go. If the room isn't ready, we leave everything with the bell boys and go.

Depends where we are and how long we are staying as to whether I completely unpack or not.

Always unpack first, and then we gogogogo! I hate vacations where you just lay around on a beach or whatever-I like "doing" vacations.

I took my then fiancé on her first real vacation ever - a road trip to CO to meet my sister. She had never before in her life had a chance to sleep past 7:00 am. So, she wanted to sleep in a lot. Additionally, her normal morning routine was to spend 2.5 hours very slowly getting ready in the morning. Day two of our road trip, we didn't leave town until 11:30! I thought I was going to go insane

The beach also bores me to tears (DW LOVES the beach), although it became much more fun once we had small kids

For a Disney trip we arrive in Orlando around 10 am, go to the resort, and see if our room is ready. If it is, we quickly unpack. If it isn't, we leave the bags with bell services. In either case it is off to Magic Kingdom. Can't waste any time at Disney! When DH and I go to NH in the fall, we take a leisurely drive, stop at scenic areas, and just take our time getting to the hotel. Once at the hotel we relax, unpack, and go out to supper.

What if it's a boy at the front desk?

I like to unpack.
Then as I wear clothes they go back into the suitcase so that when it's time to leave, the suitcase is pretty much packed.

I forgot to answer the initial question last night. As I already mentioned, we live out of our suitcases, but when we check in, we make sure our room is clean and we either take the kids straight to the pool or we go get dinner and then hit the pool. For Disney trips, we grab lunch at POP (if the room isn't ready yet), check out the room and head straight to the parks. No matter where we travel to, we try to spend very little time sitting around in a hotel. Too many things to do and see. We can be lazy at home.

We never unpack.

Pretty much just get the bags in the room, a quick wash-up, and out the door (<10 minutes.)

If the room is ready, we settle in - unpack and put away any grocery purchase. After that well head out - usually to a park but we don't usually have a specific destination.

Arrival day at WDW is always a relaxation day. No parks no matter how early we arrive. If the flight is an early one, we'll usually do something low key off site before even heading to Disney.

After check in DW insists on unpacking. I can live out of the suitcase all week. We usually just have dinner and walk around the hotel grounds or browse the gift shop. The vacation doesn't really start until rope drop the next morning.

For other distinations it's the same. Nothing major on the arrival day.

We don't unpack either..we live out of suitcases. The minute we get things organized out the door we go!

Now here is my really weird obsession. I can't mix clean suitcase clothes with dirty worn clothes. It freaks me out. So, I bring a dirty clothes bag and take home clean clothes that I actually wash on vacation! Nuts huh? That is why I like Disney world, Disney cruises.....access to wash machines.
