Kona Cafe or Captains Grille?

We need one more ADR for dinner. We've never been to either Kona Cafe or Captains Grille. Which one do you guys like better? We are going to O'Hana, and my husband is excited about crab legs at Captains Grill.

Help us find a new restaurant to be excited about! Also, we're on the DDP, so the more we can spend, the better!

DH & I were very disappointed with the meal I had in CG so I would pick Kona Cafe. We both had steaks (different ones on the menu) if that make a difference.

Our family really liked Kona Cafe, I especially lived the banana chocolate cream brûlée.

If you love crab legs,I would suggest Cape May Cafe, as they have it in their buffet selection, and the buffet is pretty good as well

I love Kona, but the crab legs at CG were good. Can't go wrong with either. I would look at the menus, and maybe that will help you decide.

I haven't eaten at Kona but we ate at CG for the crabs legs & they were water logged... I've had way better at Red Lobster & the turtle cheesecake tasted like a maple bar donut very Dissapointing.

Another vote for Kona. I've not been to Kona for dinner, but I have been to CG for dinner. I opted to try two appetizers for my meal (crab cakes and the scallops) and both were only okay. They weren't anything exceptional and not really something I would order a second time. The short ribs were pretty good (the server said they're the Signature dish of the restaurant). The desserts didn't look very appealing, so we opted to head to the Marketplace to find Oreo Cookie bon bons instead. We were seated in an alcove area (maybe four other tables) and it was loud. Voices echoed so we could easily hear the conversations of the tables around us. I was hoping for a nice relaxing meal after a long day at Epcot, but CG didn't really fit the bill.

We ate at Captains Grill on a whim a few days ago......we were very disappointed. The service was really bad....the waitress kept disappearing and made our dining experience into an annoying 2.5 hour journey. The kids all got chicken noodle soup...which should have been called celery soup....there was mabe one piece of chicken and two noodles in the whole thing.

I got the crab cakes, which you can order as an app or an entree. I got the entree because it was dinner time and I wanted a meal....I kid you not, I received one sliver of a potato on top of a bed of greens.
My DH disliked his steak, my friends scallops were undercooked and mushy...

We did not have an ADR here and just did a walk up because we are staying at YC and it was convenient....never again...

Been to both, and it's Kona all the way for us. Wish CG was better, would be nice if it was because we usually stay at Beach Club.
Wherever you go , have a great time!
