Question for Anaheim Marriott veterans (internet access)

A question for DL veterans who stay at the Marriott by the convention center. I'll be staying there during the D23 Expo. The hotel offers wifi for $13 d day. I see that the rooms also offer wired internet access in the guest room, with an asterisk of "wired for business."

If it's possible to use the wired access, I'll pack my Apple Airport Express and use it as my own private wifi source.

Wondering if others who have stayed here could chime in, to advise if this is possible or if the 'business' aspect of it makes this a non-starter, or if there are other issues I need to consider.

If I do sign up the for $13/day wifi, is it per device? or for the hotel reservation, regardless of the number of devices? Our traveling party will have 3-5 wifi-enabled devices.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer, and I really think that for a question this specific you should contact the hotel directly regarding the "wired" issue.

That said, if you do pay for the wireless, it's per room per day, not per device. If it's like any other hotel I've stayed in that has wireless access, it's always "on", you just can't start using the internet until they provide you with the proper access code/password.

As a previous Marriott employee let me offer how it worked in our hotel though your mileage may vary!

In our hotel we had a small number of rooms that offered wired access.

Wired for business is often a term used to specify rooms with both options though in our hotel this was less than 10% so the suggestion to contact the hotel directly is very good advice !

I have stayed at the Marriott Anaheim convention center and used their internet before ( wireless ) and it worked very reliably in a corner room.

At our hotel the fee was per day 12n-12n and connected up to 3 devices.

I hope this helps a little bit.

"Wired for Business" is simply Marriott's name for that $13/day charge for internet access. It works both for the wired connection in the room and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. IIRC, it's good for up to three devices simultaneously. If somebody logs onto a fourth device (the login screen merely asks for your room number and last name), the first device will get bumped off.

Thanks, all for the info.

I'll see if I can request a wired room, but it sounds like either wired or wireless, I'll be paying the daily fee. Our party will have 3 to 5 wifi-enabled devices, so we'll juggle the devices accordingly.
