Opinions, please! Crystal Palace of The Wave

Hi, all! We are leaving this weekend to visit Disney!! We recently went back in September and enjoyed going to The Crystal Palace for dinner. This trip, I am debating on a few options.

Would you visit The Crystal Palace again for dinner before Wishes or would you venture out and take the Monorail (or walk) over to the Contemporary and enjoy a new dinner at The Wave? We would then hop back over via Monorail or walk to MK to finish out our night there. The reservation at The Crystal Palace would be at 7:40PM, while we could get in at The Wave at 5:10 PM.

The night we will be at MK is a EMH night until 1:00 AM.

Thank you for any and all input!! )

We have eaten at both. CP is more festive and fun with characters and getting up to go try new foods or lots of old favorites. The Wave is a cool setting, more like a nice restaurant at home. I enjoyed it very much. The Wave takes note of locally grown products. I think either place would be fun. The Wave being more calm and a break from the bustling park. CP would be fun. Depends what you are looking for. (I personally don't like to eat late so 7:40 would be out for me.)

Our Ratings of Wave Dinner: (rev 4/10/2013)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: B
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: B
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: C
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff attentiveness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary - past Front Desk left.
The dinner entrées are a little overpriced. Service is spotty - can be
really, really good or just mediocre. (We had "Shiloh" and he was truly
attentive.) The food quality is average. Biggest problem is the food does
not always come out as ordered. The restaurant is a quiet place to eat
as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or uncouth adults. To us, it is
an OK place to eat dinner, but nothing to write home about. The menu
has American dishes, versus something abstract from other countries.
The Trio" desserts (three samples) are pretty good.

NOTE2: Although average for dinner, the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's
best kept secrets for both price and quality!

We love The Wave dinner and if given your choice would choose The Wave. But I know many will suggest CP because it's popular and already in the park. We are not big fans of their dinner (but do like lunch there).

If you go to CP with your 7:40 ADR, I think it all depends on what time Wishes starts. If it starts at 9:00 you may have to rush through dinner depending on what time you are seated. If it's at 10:00, you'll be fine.

If you go to The Wave you won't have to worry about any rushing and if you plan to be at the park all day (until 1 am close) The Wave is a good choice to take a break from the park.

Feel free to check our our dinner experience at the Wave:
