This is interesting. A few weeks ago our station screwed up Jeopardy. They played the first round, had a commercial, then re-played the first round. And yea, DH sat down during the second run of round one and I was loudly answering every single question with confidence. I was a 10 minute genius!

The repeat contestant was not on last week so no way was this a week old show. From what I can tell, this was unique to Central Florida.

On Star Trek, they'd call this kind of an event a temporal distortion. There was a ripple or fold in the time/space continuum, where you guys accessed & experienced the future for a few moments.

We're in FL and had a normal show last night. Same contestants all the way through.

My son wasn't home last night so he doesn't know what happened. Don't think I won't be messing with him tonight!

Here's my guess...

Jeopardy fed on satellite. But what fed was the "wrong version" (with the incorrect ending). Jeopardy folks sent out their alerts (generally via email) telling the stations to not use that feed and to instead record a re-feed.

A certain station (or multiple stations) either ignored the directive, or it didn't get passed to the appropriate people. So, when it came time to air the show, the station(s) aired what was sent.

That's assuming the ending was from a "future" show and not a past one.

Nope. I checked today at work (we carry Jeopardy). No alerts. I don't know about the station this happened on, but their switchboard must have been lit up. Good lord, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune viewers do not want their shows interupted for ANYTHING. Last Friday with the Boston suspect arrest, those viewers didn't care. Put Jeopardy and Wheel back on.

Worth a shot.

My other thought was a station rolls syndication out of a server, and the local person forgot to put the last segment in (and so the previous days aired). But that doesn't match what others have said they saw. Or a wrong spot number was keyed, which also doesn't make sense if it was the ending to today's show.

Too bad there was no place online where you could place bets on the correct answer.
