My experience with going to DL on July 4th is - it's packed. Several times the gate were closed because of too many people.

If you like the jam-packed, semi-festive atmosphere of such things, it would be fine.

Personally, I don't go July 4th anymore.

Yes, Yes, Yes, it is worth it! The morning and early afternoon are nice, and you can get a lot done.

From afternoon on, the Park will steadily become more and more crowded, with Main Street being the worst, because people are waiting for the fireworks.

There are other places in the park to watch the fireworks that are much less crowded.

Go in with a plan, know it will be VERY busy starting in the afternoon, have your priority seating arrangements made in advance, try to get your Must-Do's done in the morning, and then just enjoy the rest of the evening (in my opinion, by staying AWAY from Main St.)

Priority Seating can be arranged, 60 days in advance, by calling Disney Dining at (714)781-3463. If you want Fantasmic Dessert Seating, you can book 30 days in advance.

We planned a trip that ended with July 4, but are considering skipping it. We were planning to check out on July 5. But July 4 would be our 6th day, and since we can't get 6 day hoppers any more, and we'd have to skip one day anyway, we're thinking about checking out July 4 and not doing the parks that day. I'm tempted, though, when hearing that early is not crowded, but, naah, the few days before will probably be even less crowded, and I've got a kid who's terrified of fireworks.

It depends on if you have small children or not. The first time I went it was Jily the first and I was six. All I remember is sweltering heat and two hours for Dumbo! I don't want to go back
