Sorry. Forgot to answer the 1st question.
I always make things for the "cabin" then buy gifts for the kids. And I give lanyards to any new cruisers so they'll have one for their KTTW card.
Things I make are mini scrapbooks, autograph books, bookmarks, luggage handle wraps, mini Kleenex holders, magnets, banks to save for next cruise, Do Not Disturb signs for door, picture frames, etc
For babies I give Minnie or Mickey bibs, toddlers Jake the Pirate spoon & fork, little girls Princess bracelets or tiaras, little boys "Cars" cars, older girls lip gloss, necklaces, nail polish, older boys gum, ear buds, deck of cards. I have purchased personalized water bottles if its a small group. Oh I have also given deflated beach bags and water guns( but they're dolphins & sharks ).
Rarely do I give candy.

1. Homemade Disney related items, personalized items
2. Homemade disney stuff (soap, cards, etc), Disney trinkets, stuff from giver's town or state (chocolate Loonies), mini alcohol, chocolate
3. Disney decorated candies, Disney trinkets, cruise music CDs, Disney scrapbook stuff
4. I loved everything! Truly. What I didnt want or couldnt use I gave to other kids/people
5. Havent done a 7 day cruise only a 14. There were 110 participants and we delivered it all in one day.

The Wonder is a smaller ship tho. Had a map of each room by deck and did a deck at a time. I did room gifts not individual gifts so didnt have to sort out what went where. Everybody got the same thing

1. We gave out pins that DD traded off of CM lanyards from Disneyland. A Carsland CM also gave us extra buttons to pass out to the kids in our FE group after we explained what we were doing.
2. One family made red & black Mickey themed paper bags (4 of them) with gifts inside. They also gave the baby 2 Fisher Price baby books that were adorable and entertained her during the cruise. The books weren't home-made, but the bags they came in were and we LOVED them.
3. I don't think we received that many home-made gifts
4. Candy bars
5. We only did 1 round

Things specific to where people are from; personalized stuff

Tons -- but my faves are personalized cups, totes, and magnets
4. What could you have done without?
Things not appropriate for my kids' age (for younger kids)

I think it's easiest to do them all in one day. No question of forgetting/messing up.

1. We like to do something homemade and Disney related. I don't want to say what we are doing for our upcoming cruise but in the past we have made highlighters with the ship's name and rolled in micro beads with notepads and post it notes and we have done homemade note cards with envelopes. We do one gift for the cabin then separate gifts for the kids. We usually do books for the little ones, we did hacky sacks and candy for teen boys, small purell in a holder or little lotions for teen girls.

2. We received an amazing scrapbook on our Alaska cruise that all we had to do was add picture, a homemade ornament, magnets, a cool can cozy bedazzled with a Mickey head (use this everyday at work with my can of coke).

3. We honestly love everything. We appreciate the thought and time everyone puts into their gifts.

4. We try to deliver everything in one day.

1. I like to give either things they can use after the cruise to remind them of their vacation or things that will make their trip extra special (autograph books, sundae making kits)

2. The same things we like to give! We got some tile coasters with our cruise dates that we use daily so it's like a daily reminder of our trip. DH loves the Mickey-shaped cork board he got for the same reason

3. Key fobs, personalized mini steamer trunks (these were DDs favorites), magnets, luggage tags

4. Candy - it's cool when it's something unique to an area (like the Smarties from Canada) but there is just too much food on the ship to want more and we were afraid to the it home because we didn't want it to melt in the car

5. We delivered twice on an 8-day

FE group

I've been collecting stuff especially for teen boys since I heard they were hardest. I'm not finding that to be true. I found packages of fake mustaches, magic decks of cards, baseball shaped playing cards with scorepad so far. But I only have one teenage boy in my group so far! So some dads are getting some of those things too I guess. I have three homemade ideas floating around in my head that I'm going to do. I especially like making things for adults, so they'll be getting a lot. I found jelly belly rejects - they had a funny name and in funny shapes. So some cabins will be getting those. Who doesn't like jelly bellies? I think I'm going to label big ziplocks and put each cabins things in those. We're only at 14 cabins or so.
