Pics of AKL standard view

I've been searching for pics of what kind of view we might expect having booked a 'standard view'. I know that various people have been upgraded and ended up with a Savannah view anyways, but should that not happen is the 'standard view' really that bad?

I had one facing the parking lot out front - it wasn't bad, it was a nice size balcony on the thatched roof and there are palm trees.

Have you considered upgrading to a Pool View? I think the difference is under $20 a night and you will be sure you do not get a room looking out to a parking lot - plus Pool View rooms are very convenient.

I would upgrade to pool view, it's not sig. More in cost. Walking to the bus stop we pass standard view rooms, and some are truly awful. So if you stick with standard view, I'd request a room away from bus stop.

For such a beautiful resort, some of the standard view rooms really are awful, especially considering how much money you are spending to stay there. We upgraded to a pool view for $50 for the week and it was beautiful. We loved sitting out on our balcony every night with the pretty lights of the pool glowing. Our view of the pool was partially obstructed by a tree which made it even more private. I would not count on getting upgraded to a Savannah view.
