We stayed there last year and DD loved it. You get a letter from Tiana when you check in. There are pictures of the princesses all around the room and touches of each princess. (Genie lamps for faucets, etc...).

There are 3 different booking categories for Royal rooms.....Standard, Garden View and Riverview. Riverview is the most expensive option but it will be closest to the footbridge that leads to the lobby and buses.

So views may be different depending on your room category.

The Royal Rooms are in Parterre Place, building 95, and Oak Manor, building 90.

You can clink on every room in each building to see the view.

There are tons of YouTube videos also FYI. We loved the RR and while they are princess type rooms they aren't really girly more regal in nature so I don't think your DH would mind at all. The grounds at POR are stunning and seem so quiet and peaceful after a long day at a busy Disney park. Enjoy your trip.

Also one thing we discovered about the view when deciding to pay extra for view....because you enter your room from the outside hallway people walk by your window all the time. We kept our curtains closed almost the whole time for this reason so our beautiful view was really wasted. Just our experience.

I agree. We had a Riverview and kept our curtains closed too. Although once we left our room the view was really pretty and a short walk over to the food court. We were in the Oak Manor building I believe. The Royal Rooms were really well appointed and not too "girlie". Very nice.
