Since the park is closing at 9pm on May14, I am guessing the last bus will not be 11pm? Do we need to run to the shuttle station after watching the fireworks show at MK? I am wondering if we need to watch the fireworks close to the entrance.

Everyone that went on the cruise already is it worth it to go on this route just to see WDW - we went twice there in the past but it was over 10 years ago? How much can you really see in one day? We are still debating on hopping on this route or doing the Oct 26th Halloween cruise on the Wonder. it just doesn't do WDW but it does have Halloween????

The fireworks will be over before the last shuttle from MK. How many cruisers will hit the bus line at the same time, who knows. They do however have busses running throughout the evening leaving from right outside the gwate at MK. Very convenient.

It is worth getting off the boat? Yes

We went to AK first last month, ate lunch at Reanforest Cafe at the exit before getting over the MK at about 3pm. Plenty of time to do SOMETHING. I would just have a plan. This isn't a day you get on a bus and then decide what to do. Have an idea of a timeline, especially if you would like to see more than one park.

If you do not want to get off the boat on WDW day. You will be required to disembark the ship at about 9am while the boat clears customs. Don't think the process takes very long, but haven't done it since I went to MK. Just letting you know you just can't sleep in on that day.

WDW Day

We may find that we're really busy on WDW Day: Animal Kingdom for the African Safari Trek in the morning; Magic Kingdom to see the new section they're working on after lunch; EPCOT for dinner at Le Cellier with friends who are visiting WDW; and IllumiNations with Dessert.

The description of the IllumiNations event mentions that we'll be escorted to our bus transportation at the end of the show, I believe. And I hear that there are three different areas for private parties; guess we'll find out which one on the day-of.

So it sounds like there will be transportation back to the ship available at each park? We plan to end our day at Epcot. We were wondering if we would just catch the bus back to the ship at Epcot or whether we would need to make our way to the TTC and catch a bus there?

you will catch the bus right outside the gate of Epcot. You will get a schedule of bus pick-ups and drop offs when you board the bus in the morning.

Sapphire,

We had dining reservations at the Contemporary Wave restaurant last week and were going there on the monorail from Epcot and then going from there to MK. I cannot emphasize enough how much I underestimated the monorail lag time for both trips. It seems like we were on the monorail and sat and sat for 15 min waiting for it to leave each spot. I wish that were exaggerating, but it's not. Not sure what the deal was. Sometimes they just pause in the middle for 'traffic' too. It took us literally 30 min to monorail from Contemporary to MK. I was VERY nervously watching the clock so that we wouldn't miss Wishes fireworks...

My point is not to underestimate the travel time even in with the MK monorails and resorts. There was definitely a delay...

We've been to Ohana before - actually, it's the closest thing we have to a tradition at WDW, going to Ohana for dinner one night, because it's the one place that everyone loves.

We were considering doing Victoria and Albert's dinner, but I'm afraid too much of it would be "wasted" on DD.

On the 2/15 cruise, we did 18 rides in one day when the Magic Kingdom was a level 10 out of 10 crowd level with "Live with Kelly and Michael" filming in the park on President's Day. If you are determined and use fast passes, you can see a lot!

Plus, MK will only be a 3 on May 14 - I think this is your WDW day. Should be short lines.
