Chances of making rope drop at MK from Chef Mickeys?

Any input would be much appreciated! I would love to start our vacation with a character ADR but Crystal Palace and the Pooh gang are not as interesting to my kids and CRT would be more for my daughter than my son. Thanks for any feedback!

I've never done it but have read that if you want to do it comfortably, your ADR should probably be not much later than 7:15.

We have made a reservation for Chef Mickey at 7:30am and made rope drop. Ask for the bill once you're settled at your table, this will make sure you don't waste time at the end of the meal waiting for the bill.

You can talk to MK from the Contemporary, 10-15 minutes at most

We had 7:20am reservations for Chef Mickey's, and we were at the turnstiles when the rope drop show began (past the bag check, but not through the turnstiles). They stopped letting people through during the show, so we watched it from outside the turnstiles, but as soon as it was over we were through. We also took the monorail as it was a treat for my nephews. We would have been there sooner, most likely, if we'd walked.

I would say that if you have a reservation before 7:30, you should be fine. It will depend a lot on how long it takes for you to see the characters. we always do Ohana at around 7:15 and have always made it to see the show. It's 2 monorail stop away from Chef Mickey.

We always have a 7:15 ADR, take monorail to MK, and still there by 8:30-8:40. Should be no problem at all.
