I think the food at Tusker House is better, but CP is fun too. Time wise, I would go with the CP one so you can make use of the first hour for attractions rather than eating. If you aren't worried about that, I would go with the characters your children would most enjoy.

Tusker House is our favorite breakfast. Huge selection and really unique atmosphere. Thats a tough ADR time though - that first hour after park opening is crucial. If anything is available between 10-11, that might be better so you can get some rides done when crowds are lowest. If not, you'd still have time to FP the Safari first since its right near TH.

Food or characters?

The food is better at Tusker, but do you want to eat with the Fab Five in safari clothes or Pooh and his friends?

It's as simple as that really. I'd pick Tusker, cause I'd rather see Goofy than Tigger. ...but that's just me.

That was our plan to grab Fp for the safari (I checked on the map as to where it was.). That is basically the only thing we want to do at AK anyways

Cobern, your kids are a good age for Festival of the Lion King if you haven't seen it yet. You could do that after breakfast & safari. And maybe some playtime in the Boneyard too.

And I also think Tusker House has better food & AK is our 2nd favorite park.

Man, gotta say you are missing out, even with little ones. Do the animal trails, ride the train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch and pet the goats and sheep. Go to the Boneyard and let them play with the Dinosaur bones and ride Triceratops Spin. See Flights of Wonder (the bird show). Even - maybe especially - Festival of the Lion King (acrobats, stilt walkers, fire jugglers and aerialists).

(Sorry - AK is my favorite park and it is a reflex to defend it.)

As far as the initial question goes - I would go with what the kids favorite characters are. If they like Pooh and Friends - then Crystal Palace, if Fab5 - the Tusker House. I haven't been to Tusker House for breakfast, but I think Crystal Palace's is very good.

I'm going to throw some dissent into the mix. We've eaten at Tusker House and Crystal Palace for breakfast during our last six visits. I think Crystal Palace has much better food. I don't even think it's close.

Plus, Crystal Palace is less chaotic than Tusker House. And At Tusker House they force you to wait in a pre-mail queue for a photo with Donald Duck. That wastes 10 minutes and drives us crazy.

The Tusker House food was so bad this past January that we threw up our hands in despair and vowed to drop Tusker House from our itineraries. We're going to try Cape May Cafe next trip instead. Fingers crossed.

Food is subjective, and obviously I'm in a minority here. But I'd try Crystal Palace too if you can.

No one can force you to do anything. We politely declined the line for photo with Donald by saying no thank you and proceeding to the hostess. No one cared.
