Just got home from our first cruise and....

Oh my goodness--I am officially a Cruising Gal!

First of all, I was sooooooo worried about getting sea sick, as I get motion sick from everything! I took my bonine the night before the cruise and took it every night till we disembarked and it worked great! Someone on here told me to expect to feel a bit different, but to recognize that you're not sick--and that was soooo right on! It totally helped me not freak out! Wish I could remember who that was to thank them!

The restaurants were AMAZING! We had great experiences and our dining servers were fantastic! From my personal choices, Animator's Palate was my favorite--but my husband's favorite was Royal Palace. We both really enjoyed Enchanted Garden, as well!

Our cruise was a fully booked cruise--but honestly, with it being my first cruise, I had nothing to compare it to--so it didn't really bother us. The pools were crowded--but not bad. The Aquaduck line always said 45 minute wait--but it rarely took that long. My 2 year old loved Nemo's Reef and we throughly enjoyed our daily ice cream cones!

Castaway Cay was FANTASTIC! Wow, we loved it!!

We watched a couple shows--The Golden Mickeys and Believe--we all LOVED them. Just amazing!

We only did the 3 night cruise--as I was so worried about getting motion sick--but lesson learned, it is DEFINITELY not long enough! We've already planned a 2014 7 Night Cruise! I can't wait!

Next time, we plan on taking advantage of the Kid's Clubs and making a reservation at Palo! My husband and I really want to explore some of the adult only areas!! There just wasn't enough time for that this time around! Just gives us something else to look forward to!

Thanks so much to everyone for all their wonderful tips and suggestions--everything really helped us out!!

I am so glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. I am worried to about motion sickness, as I too get it . . . I am glad to hear that the bonnine worked out well for you and I think that is what my plan of attack is going to be when we go.

Glad you had a great cruise. It's an addiction DW and I will never break ourselves of. The longer the cruise (and the more sea days) the better it is. We can't get enough of the ship and the fantastic Cast Members. Our last cruise was the 15 night Wonder PC east to west repositioning.

Glad you had a wonderful trip. I have a feeling I'm going to love it too. Last time I cruised was in my early twenties and it was the Carnival booze type cruise to Mexico. I'm looking forward to my first Disney cruise.

We were on our first cruise on 3/23 Fantasy. I was a complete worry wart about getting motion sickness...started a bonine a day 2 days prior, plus a ginger root capsule a day and wore sea bands!! Needless to say I was more than fine! Felt great and took seabands off after day 2...kept with bonine and ginger though. DH who doesn't get motion sickness felt lousy entire time! He will be getting the patch next time for sure...he did start to feel btr thursday or so after getting bonine in his system and wearing DDs seabands....I truly am a believer in all of the above! No harm in prevention!!

Welcome to this wonderful addiction. You picked a great line for your first cruise. We have tried others but always come back to Disney. My first was a 4 night and I agree.......way to short. Nothing less than a 7 from now on.

It is definitely an addiction. I caught the DCL bug on our first one.

Glad you enjoyed it, welcome to the addiction!

As for the motion sickness, I'm just like you. I get motion sick at the drop of a hat. I don't care; I cruise anyway and it rarely bothers me. Just assume that it WILL at some point, on some cruise and that you'll just have to enjoy a little extra nap time. Two weeks ago on a Celebrity cruise, DH was even green around the gills for a while and he NEVER gets sea sick. I made it go away by lying down on a heated lounger in the spa. See, there's always a way to fix it!
