Tusker House. We went for lunch. I wasn't expecting much at all and was blown away. Everything I tried there was good.

Same here. We went for the atmosphere only and we ended up enjoying our meal immensely!

LOVED lunch at LTT...what a GREAT surprise! Also, Via Napoli was really good and like others have said Sci-Fi. We avoided SF for years because of the "cheese" factor, but we went last year and really enjoyed it! Who knew sitting in a fake car watching an old B-roll movie while eating a burger would be a good time?!

Seems to be quite a few people suggesting LTT and San Angel Inn...we had considered San Angel for our November trip but decided we don't want a WS ADR during F&W as we'd rather graze, but it's definitely something we will likely do in the future.

LTT is one that I barely even consider, but since DH is a real meat and potatoes type, I think it will have to find its way into our rotation at some point in the near future.

On our 25th Wedding Anniversary DH and I were strolling the WS and he wanted to go to San Angel Inn. I was an avid DISBoarder and thought "No way....bad idea" but he said "Come on! It's romantic!" so we did and what a wonderful suprise! We were able to walk in and were seated and it was lovely and delightfully fresh and tasty. Maybe it's being from Texas or maybe it's because I love cohiba cheese but it was wonderful

Lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. They have a chicken caesar salad that I love! It's the same entree salad that I used to be able to get at CRT pre-characters. Warning-the kid at the next table also ordered it and sent it back. I was so shocked! I don't know why, but just thout I'd mention it-one person's love may not be everyone's.

For us it was dinner at 'Ohana. I actually cancelled our reservation there our first trip but went our last trip and was happy. We had read mixed reviews and I was nervous! We had an early reservation so maybe that made a difference but I'm glad we tried it and we'll go back!

Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom was a total surprise. I've never been to one before. We were seated at lunch without a reservation so that in itself was a surprise, and the restaurant was a lot of fun. The food was good enough, just had nachos, quesadillas etc, what I expected.

For me, the top two pleasant surprises so far have been:

1. Via Napoli. I'd read the rave reviews but somehwat dismissed them because we're talking about theme park pizza, which generally sets the bar pretty low. But this is genuinely delicious pizza that, IMO, holds its own with any pizza establishment outside of a theme park.

2. 50's Prime Time. Not so much for the food but because the overall experience was just so much more fun than I anticipated (and I'm an introvert). And the food, while not amazing, was better than I was expecting (especially the PB&J milkshake, which is heavenly).
