Disney Silver Castaway Club Lanyard?

Does the lanyard you get a check in have one of those clear ID holders with it or do I need to bring my ID pouch to attach to the lanyard from home?

Are you on a new ship or a classic? I ask this because on the classics you will have to pull out your card to open your door and the plastic pouches tend to rip. If you have something sturdier, I would bring it if on the Magic or Wonder.

We've only been on the classics, and had no problem with the pouch ripping. Well, not yet, anyway. We have 8 silver and 2 gold lanyards and they all have their pouches intact.

I am on the Dream this time. My first cruise was on the Magic. I might get one of those blue cloth lanyards for future cruise though. Cruise number two a little over a month away can't wait.
