glad we are in agreement- just as racism should be dealt with in the severest of manners (from all sides of the aisle), playing the race card must also be looked at as dangerous as eventually it could become an issue of "the boy who cried wolf" when cases of true racism arise...

I am not kissing a frog...

and eating a bug on the same day! (from the movie)

We LOVE Tiana and The Princess and the Frog. We also love Belle, Ariel, Rapunzel, Aurora... well I guess I would be listing them all!!

What I find interesting is some people on our cruise did not know who Aurora was - or knew her as Sleeping Beauty but didn't know her name. There are other movies I am surprised people don't know.

When we are standing in line to meet characters etc. I often notice it has to do with not only how popular the movie is but the AGE of the kids. If you have much younger kids you might not have seen older Disney movies. If you have older kids you might have seen the older movies but not the more recent ones.

I am pretty sure I remember hearing someone during the Golden Mickeys ask who Mulan was! Which was a SHOCK to me... she is my FAVORITE... she kicks butt!

I also have a 11yr old dd and a 4yr old dd... so Disney has had me and my $$ for awhile and will for a lot longer!! I always tell my students "If it isn't a Disney movie I haven't seen it!"

this is so black & white but qthing in be~teen.

my gut feeling isn't about skin colors but the way "others"
can make one feel , whether on purpose or not?

just saying , my profession is in the people business too so
it has behooved me, to learn as much as i can- about all
the "fields" that effects; all the human behaviors that
can produce both positive & negative results. what
i have discovered ,there are specfic rules that made up basic
human dynamics that can be used as a "guide" to
improve one's quality of life.

mental health is in many ways common sense but most
often ignored. here's one example- one's rights end when
their words and actions begin to hurt (physical/emotional)
another. how do you know? when the person tells

what i took from you are seeking to
understand? if so , i like to suggest a book that i read when
i was in high school-that was already 40 plus years old- in
the 70's. i believe- it was written by a black author growing
up in the south... i think during the 20's/30's. but it also
contained many great lessons about human dynamics.
lessons that has given me great success in my own life.
good luck. oh, it 's name...."the learning tree."

as for the person that was mistreated, so sorry that others
hurt you. we teach, just because others rationalized their
hurting behaviors, no person ever deserved it. however,
you are inspiring from recovery & where you still
sought & found happiness. impressive in~deeds!!!

the most common mistakes we "see"- there are differences
between self centers & self realizations and failing to
separate the 2 hurt oneself. jus becaus- when you hurt others,
then they will eventually leave you a-lone. loneliness is a
most painful condition to suffer from especially when you reach
maturity. all ~time black american? the scientist who invented
peanut butter. i don't know any black , but i liked the
story. and i have had many black friends that have enriched
my life. and from those experiences, i have learn those using
"race/color" to measure their hate , are missing out.

Who can say why the Tiana line was shorter on that particular day?

All the PP have brought up great reasons.

Could it have been about race? Sure, though it was probably more of a combination of all the things listed.

I, myself would have jumped on the line that was the shortest, no matter which princess.

My DD (btw-her name is Evangeline) likes Tiana and knows the songs - though her Tiana phase was a few weeks ago. This week she is all about Belle. Last week it was Ariel. Next week it will be someone else.
