Duty Free bargains

On our last cruise, for the first time ever, I went into the duty free shop on the ship just to browse. I knew the prices on the alcohol was cheaper but I always thought it would be "just a little bit cheaper" and didn't want to bother buying there and hauling it home. But this last trip I actually looked at a few prices and was shocked! I bought a liter of Crown Royal for $12. This runs for about $45 at home. I also bought a liter of Jack Daniels for $20, which also sells for about $45 at home.

All the years I've been cruising and I had no idea you could get such bargains there. I need to look at colognes next time. And the next time we cruise, I think each member of the family will get their authorized amout of duty free goods.

My husband loves expensive rum. We always buy our allowance, usually in port. The bottle he has open now was $35 in St Thomas and sells for $129 locally.
