i think there was a thread like this before but it is an old thread so have you ever cried at a TV show or A film before or has a film or TV show got you emotional before?

i dont usually cry for TV shows but i remember getting upset when Max got killed in Hollyoaks and also in Emmerdale when Natasha murdered Mark that got me emotional.

i cant remember ever getting upset at a movie before.

The most recent one I can remember is LOST, pretty much anytime someone died or left the island.

Jin and Sun made me cry...Desmond and Penny made me cry...

OMG and who can forget when Charlie died???

Certainly.

I cried during The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, when Frodo sent Sam away, when Bilbo and Frodo were on their way to the Grey Havens, when the Eagles rescued them. During The Fellowship of the Rings, when the Fellowship left Moria. During the scenes on Amon Hen, with Boromir's death scenes.

I practically sobbed during Les Miserables.

There's more, but those are the first ones I thought of.

I had a big old boo-hoo at Les Miserables a couple of weeks ago. At least I wasn't the only one in the theater crying, so I didn't feel too wierd about it.

All the time! Just recently, at a recent funeral in Army Wives, and we just finished a marathon of Downton Abbey. I can't even count the number of episodes in which I cried! (Don't want to post any spoilers, but those who know the shows will understand!)

But then again, I'm the type who'll cry at Hallmark commercials!

When Marc Greene dies in ER. When Sun and Jin die in Lost.

Lots of instances. Speaking of ER, also when Pratt died.
I cry pretty much through the whole movie, P.S. I Love You.
Other movies: Titanic, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Toy Story 3

As far as tv goes, the episode of 8 Simple Rules when the dad (John Ritter) died always makes me cry if I see it on. It wouldn't have had he not really died and the actors weren't clearly really in mourning, but even if I see it now years later I'll lose it.

Stepmom and Hardball for movies.

I rarely cry in real life about anything, but I easily cry at movies and TV shows.

Two that come to mind:

1. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" (the book) -- my older DS and I read all of the books aloud together and when I got to a certain part near the end (won't say which part in case there are people who haven't read/seen it), I was crying uncontrollably and could not continue reading for about 20 minutes.

2. "A.I. - Artificial Intelligence" -- this was a Steven Spielberg movie (it must be at least 10+ years old because it was pre-kids). There was one part that I was so overcome with emotion (and I had a huge lump in my throat and tears streaming down my face) that I thought I was going to start hysterically sobbing right there in the theater. I almost got up and left the theater, but I was able to pull it together.

I read threads on the DIS or new stories and I get easily choked up, but I'm so not an emotional person in general.

I saw "The painted veil" in the plane and cried so hard when the husband dies, that my seat neighbour asked if I was alright.
I was so embarrassed but I couldn't stop .

A few from the past that made me cry like a baby....Terms of Endearment and Steel Magnolias. Too many to list them all.

I often cry at Hallmark commerials...I can get very emotional at TV shows/movies but love to watch really scary movies and those have no effect on me at all.

I cried in Forrest Gump, and a few times in a sitcom I watched when I was younger. I'm too embarrassed to say which one though.
