(SPOILERS) Olympus has Fallen or DIE HARD in the White House

Saw this yesterday afternoon. We were surprised that a 1pm showing on a Tuesday was as crowded as it was. It was a good excuse to get out of the cold. We may finally hit the 40's today.

Anyway, this was one of the better DIE HARD in/on movies I have seen in awhile. You did really have to suspend disbelief at several moments though.

A) The White House mansion is not as close to the fence as the movie made it out to be.
B) The Veep and President would NEVER be in the bunker together.
C) The prime minister of whatever country would NEVER go to the bunker with the president.
D) The head of the Secret Service cannot declare the Speaker of the House as acting president.
E) The Speaker has to first resign his or her office before becoming president. He or she must then run for re-election. (The West Wing taught me that one)

Other than that, it was a good popcorn movie. Some of the effects were a little cheesy but still fun.

What did you think of it?

DH and I went to see it over the weekend. As he put it, it was like watching Die Hard on crack.....lol. It was VERY violent but I don't know how it couldn't have been. We enjoyed it overall. That Mike Banning was like Chuck Norris! They just couldn't get rid of him!

I loved it, and believe that all good popcorn thrillers have to include a certain amount of suspension of disbelief (otherwise it would be a verrrrry short movie).

Like in zombie shows, it's about how people react to sudden, unexpected trouble, no matter how well trained you think you are, things can go haywire fast. Plans are only as good as the people who have to implement them....

Definitely going to buy it when it comes out on bluray!
