Vero Beach

Anyone ever been? What are your personal experiences?

Thinking of going in August before school is back in session. There's still a few nights open. Just kind of a quick few days to get away.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Nope. Nobody here's ever been there!!

We tacked on 3 nights at VB to the end of a week long stay at BCV (in August) a few years ago. It's a pretty quiet town - not much going on but the resort is very nice. Because it IS so quiet we thought 3 nights were plenty. Nice way to unwind after a hectic week at the parks. Glad we tested it out for a short stay before diving in to book a week. We would've been bored with a whole week there. When we were there it was just a few days after a tropical storm had gone by - the waves were still a little rough and the beach was steep - and lots of seaweed was in the water. Couldn't get in the ocean without having it hang all over us. Not 100% sure but we attributed it to the storm passing by so we spent a good bit of our time at the pool. We would try it again sometime, but for just a few nights like we did the last time.

Went last year in May, going back again this year. We are a couple and found a week there to be great. Slept in, relaxed by the pool basically did alot of nothing. If you are a go-go-go person you will get bored after a few days. You can also go up to Sebastian and down to Vero proper. Each is 10-15 minute drive from the resort.

Best bet is to check out the Vero post on the DVC Resort page. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3021104

We went once and that was enough for us. We prefer the Gulf Coast beaches over the Atlantic beaches. White sand, expansive beach, warm water at our preferred beaches that VB doesn't have.

We have gone a few times. Last time was with husband and kids after 4 days at WDW. Our boys (7/11 at the time) loved ending the vacation this way. We are east coast peeps and are used to the water temp and waves. Kids had a blast riding them in.

As adults, loved that there was nothing to do but sit in the sun and read/relax/drink/rest.

We use VB as our precruise stay. For either Miami or PC. Really is nice and relaxing. They have one site restraunts and even the dole whip. Mickey bars and character breakfasts. If you must be entertained this might not be for you.they have one site mini golf too.We just enjoy the pool and watching classic Disney movies at nights. Camp fires too.

we stayed for 5 nights (weeknights, less points) I loved it, hubby was bored after 2 days.
to me, what could be better than lying in the sun, by the ocean, with a good book?

it is a bery nice pool, by the way. but you kinda have to choose in the morning... pool or beach. there is actually a "rope drop" in the morning for the pool. after all , there are o parks to go to , so everyone is going to be by the pool or the beach.

hogging loungers at the pool while you spend time on the beach is frowned upon. (rightfully so) but there was this one lady that got there every morning, and threw towels on 2 umbrella tables, and about 10 chairs. and her group slowly came down from the rooms, and moved back and forth all day from the beach to the pool. she did this everyday.. annoying.
I enjoyed our time there. we went into Sebastian for breakfast at a place called 3 sister. (maybe it was 2 sisters, not sure lol) very good. and there is a place for dinner and drinks in Sebastian, gee, cant' remember the name.

ok, maybe 5 nights was a bit too long, but 3 nights would be perfect.
