New Monorail thoughts

Do any of you think that with the two new parking garages, the bridge from SSR to DTD, AND taking out the last bus stop, that they may be making room for the monorail to run from TTC to DTD at long last. There was an easement on SSR property to extend the monorail. I bet if they charge to park in the garage they could pay for the monorail inno time!!!:

Ok, flame away!!!!h

I'd love to see it, but put the chances of it happening are worse than my Mets winning the World Series this year.

I would love to see an extension of the monorail any where. I have been waiting for the monorail line to be updated for so long now and it really hasn't for ever so this would be great. But I don't expect to see it happen there was no talk of it when they announced the expansion plans so i don't see it happening.

There will be no extension of the Monorail. The overall cost will negate the
possibility of this happening. I would love to see this happening but.........

No chance in hell and anyone who thinks there is is drinking the kool aid. There is no financial incentive, therefore Disney isn't even considering it. The sooner you people (obviously) with imagination in your hearts realize this, the sooner you can hold this currently souless company's feet to the fire and attempt to force change.

I agree that this will probably not happen even though I would like it to. But the guy above did bring up a good point that charging for parking could offset the overall cost eventually.

Not going to happen. The monorails are starting to be money pits, with all of the safety features they've had to add, as well as the maintenance issues. They are moving less people per hour, which makes it less effective at getting people to places where they spend money.

I agree with all sentiments...

Though Pete is starting to give me that "disgruntled ex-employee who was fired from WOD for having a domestic with his estranged ex who works at Ragland road in the parking lot" kinda creepy vibe...
Nothing a little Prozac can't cure

If we are all EXTREMELY lucky...we'll see one more set if trains...and that I think might even be a longshot.

Disney has gotten comfortable cutting stuff out over the last 10+ years...because there is not one shrivel of backlash.

Everyone just goes with it. Get on the bus, baby!

Only if it could be built cheaper. Maybe something like the one at Heathrow terminal 5 airport. Understand it is cheaper to build and much more flexible.

~LOL! This post is too funny -- but sadly, I agree with you. What's up with that?

~lockedoutlogic & Mr. Pirate are right, there is no incentive for Disney to lift a finger -- they won't even fix the current monorail -- Disney will resort to cutting hours or not running the monorails, at all!

The problem with heathrow is that it was built using at least partial government funds or government authority...Disney is a public stock company. Even though Iger has more cash than he could conceivably burn if he did it 24 hours a day until the day he died...
...he's not interested in giving one cent that won't make money down the road.

Monorails don't...
Neither would John carter....but that must be different
