Registering kids for clubs?

This is our seventh Disney cruise (I think), but our first cruise since DD is old enough to go to the Oceaneer's Club, and I just did the online registration for her. I'm wondering--what is the deal with the registration you do in the terminal or on the ship? You do this even if you registered the kid online, right? What is the point of it? Getting a bracelet? Having the CM explain policies and procedures?

Yes, you get the bracelet and learn the procedure for checking in and out of the club. You can do this in the terminal before you board, or onboard at the club the first time you go there.

Basically, yes - get the wristband, confirm that she's going to be in the club, verify who can check her in and out, go over any allergies, review procedures, etc.

Online is to confirm participation and set the code word to be used for young children to get in and out.

Then you have the terminal or kids club to complete registration, get the band know the procedure for emergencies as well as routine, show your child the club and get them settled down.

If the line is long in the terminal then just wait until you board and get the band at the club. Remember the password you put in during the registration process because they will ask you! I was like "what password"?

I just want to reiterate that you don't have to get in that long line in the terminal no matter what any crew member (in the terminal) or other traveler says. Skip that sucker and get on the ship!

And when you get on the ship, if the line to check in is long at the Oceaneer Club, just head down the hall to the Lab and check in there instead. Also, if there's an activity going on during the open house and your kid(s) wants to do it - just go in and get the bracelet later. We totally just missed Chip N Dale dance party because I was waiting in the line. I found out later we could have gone in during open house.

Can't register online?

I just completed my online check-in. However when I tried to register my children for the clubs the option is greyed out and wont let me click. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone know why this is?

How old are your kids? If they are the age for the Edge/Vibe they do not need to be registered - they just show up at their clubs.

Agreed. We've always registered DD during open house. Never waited in a line and since we pre-registered the whole process takes less than a minute.

You should be able to register them. Not sure why it is grayed out.

The same thing is happening for my cruise. I know I have pre-registered them before and it is greyed out for this cruise. Hmmmm....
