Tutor on board?

My daughter just told me that one of her teachers is insisting that Disney has a tutor aboard the ships. Has anyone heard of this or is she pulling my leg?

AFAIK, there are no tutors onboard (for guests). Now, whether they might have them for any kids that may be part of the entertainment onboard, it's possible. And, it's quite likely that there are CMs in the kids clubs that are teachers also.

Possibly the teacher traveled with a group that has set up a sort of home schooling situation within their group.

If there is, I would love this job. Maybe she is thinking of the show suite life on deck.

There is not a tutor on-board. Ask the teacher which DCL cruise she was on that included a tutor. I'm sure the answer is that she has never sailed DCL.

There are no kids in Entertainment. everyone who is employed on the ship has top be at least 18. The only kids used in shows are for the 7 dwarfs in the golden mickeys and they are pocked randomly from the audience before the show.

OP--no there is not.

But--I think it would be cool if Oceaneer's Club set aside 2 hours per day of study hall instead of an allowing "Open House" that's nearly empty. If it were monitored by a CM and in the Club, my DD would go and I'd make her do her schoolwork.

There have been groups organized among DISers on the meet thread with the longer cruises for kids to meet at set times on sea days to work on schoolwork. Sometimes home school parents or teacher have organized this so the kids have some help. This has nothing to do with DCL, however, as noted previously.
