how successful are offsite guests at getting ADR for BOG

we went this trip and it is what the girls are looking forward to the most about next trip too is eating in Belle's castle. Due to some unexpected finances we will probably be staying offsite at Bonnet Creek. i am just wondering how successful people who stay offsite are at getting ADRs for BOG??? I would assume those staying onsite would take advantage of the +10 policy....we might book at the poly if a good deal comes out but what happens if we cancel that reservation once our ADRs are booked, will they still be good???

ADR's have absolutely nothing to do with staying on property. Anyone can make an ADR for any Disney Restaurant. All that is required is a park ticket to actually get to the restaurant.

Well I staying at bonnet creek next month and I was able to get BOG for dinner 5:35 without a problem. I guess it depends on when you are going and how busy it is.

Not completely true. If you stay on site, you get to take advantage of the 180+10 ADRs whereas those staying off site get only the 180 ADRs. When looking for times at BOG even the moment the system goes live at the 180 day mark, you will see that many times are not available. Those were scarfed up by on site people between 1 and 10 days earlier. That said, by going on line 180 days out when the systen goes live in the morning, you should get something.

Not completely true.
Yes anyone can make an ADR at 180 days from the date at any Disney Restaurant.
But guests staying at a Disney owned property have the + 10 day advantage, which for a restaurant like BOG is huge.
With the 180 + 10 booking onsite guests are able to make their ADR's from 180 days from checkin date and up to the next 10 days. This gives an onsite guest up to a 10 day advantage to those not staying on Disney property.
With BOG's popularity this could be a problem for off site guests.

I am offsite at BC too in June. Booked BOG at 180 day mark first thing in morning and got desired time of 7:30p.

I've consistently had better luck getting the ADR date & time I wanted at exactly 180 days from my trip than I have been able to get using 180 + 10. I don't think they release all the tables up to 10 days beyond the 180 days. It seems like the bulk of the ADRs are held for the 180 date. I'd say your chances are good for getting BOG at 180, if you're online when they're released.

Thats what I am worried about is the plus ten advantage for onsite guests. Mind you i booked our adr this time for march a few days after they were released and I had no problem.

Just wondering what happens to your adr's if you book onsite but then cancel that reservation?? do you lose the ADRs made?

We were originally booked a year ago for POR but then in January went for more space at a DTD hotel. We had booked all our ressies back at the 180 day mark all of our ressies remained intact after the cancellation.

I'm staying offsite and tried every day for two weeks, getting up at the buttcrack of dawn to make a ressie at BOG for September. Didn't get one, but that might have been because we're a party of 10. I tried calling and doing it online myself

This is what happened for me too. I was booked for May 10th-20th at an onsite resort, but then found I could get a one bedroom villa at Bonnet Creek cheaper than I could even a value resort using an AP discount, so switched. My ADRs stayed intact and I have an ADR at BOG for dinner on May 14th.
