Of our room is right next to or very close to stairs and elevators, are they loud?

We have 3 kids one of which will be 18 months old...how loud are the elevators and stairs??

Our stateroom door has been across from the elevator hall and stairs and we didn't have any issues with noise from them and we are all sensitive to noise. We were also on the Magic so not sure what ship you are on.

I've never heard any noise from the elevator, however I have definitely heard noise for the kids running up and door the stairs. To be fair it's not always the kids running up and down the stairs! When this happens, it tends to "echo" a bit and if you're near the opening you can hear it - like a stomping noise. I wouldn't say it's awful or anything to worry about - but it was definitely noticeable for my Mom and I on the Fantasy when we weren't too far away from the elevators and stairs. We had cabin 10566 so we were about 8 cabins away from the entrance.

I just saw this - I'll tell you aft was far more quieter than the other cabins I've had. I think it's like others have posted - there isn't a lot of "traffic" back there so it tends to be quieter. We had far aft 6188 on our first Dream cruise and it was very quiet back there and I didn't hear the noise I mentioned above. It's definitely been a little nosier forward and mid and I'd assume it's just because it's busier in those sections - much like trying to catch an elevator midship and forward - forget it! lol

Have a great time,
Heather

From my experience noise tends to come form above and below. The halls and elevators are generally quiet. With that being said I try and pick a stateroom on a floor that has a room both above and below it.

Our room is on level 9. Plus I plan to bring a small fan for background noise since we all sleep with one at home. I just assumed the elevators and people would be louder.

Good to hear! I never really thought about outside noise when we booked it. But I did read that it was really convenient to be close to the elevators so I am thankful for that part, with 3 kids!

I think in the halls during night and morning hours people are aware o the surroundings and generally respect that. Once you get into a public area like a food area, pool deck etc.., people tend to get louder. ,

We had a cabin near the forward elevators on the Wonder and loved it. No issues at all with noise. I prefer to book a cabin near the stairs/elevators for the convenience of getting to other decks.

I probably am the lightest sleeper there is, and we were on the Fantasy aft, 2 doors away from the elevator and heard nothing. Now, for my next door neighbors allergies, I wanted so bad to slip him/ her a Benadryl under the door soooo badly
