Can I switch the primary person with the secondary person?

I booked a cruise with me as the primary person. I didn't think anything of it, but now I see that the reservation is being referred to as the "Smith family cruise" because my last name is Smith (not really). Problem is that our kids use my DH's last name, not my last name.

I'm assuming if I request a character call, Mickey will call and say "Hey Smith family - we're looking forward to seeing you", and that when we get announced on the ship, it will be as "Smith family". Right?
I would prefer that they refer to us as the "Brown" family so that my kids recognize their names. They will be confused if they are referred to as the Smith family.

Can I switch the reservation so that my DH is the primary guest, and I'm the secondary guest?

They will announce you under any name you like. Even if it is not your real name. Even if you use a joke name, provided it is not offensive.

Either tell the cast member announcing you what you would like them to say, or write it down.

I have no idea how the Mickey call works.

Thanks for your reply!

Does anyone know how the Mickey call works? Does Mickey say the family name?

I honestly don't recall the character phone calls using our name at all...they mention the destination and ship, but I don't remember hearing our name. I don't think it's that personalized.

Enjoy your cruise!

We just received a call from Goofy on Sunday telling my DD about the cruise and I don't believe a name was used. I have it videoed but was so excited that the first few seconds I for got to hit the speaker button.

She loved it even though she didn't quite understand what it was all about. A quick reveal with a poster answered all her questions!

I have switched primary with secondary before. I rebooked onboard and noticed when we got home that they had listed my DH as primary and I wanted to switch it and they did. I don't know if there's a certain time frame within original booking date that it has to be done by though.
