It sounds to me like either the cruise is past the PIF date and therefore in the penalty period, in which case there's no "principle" involved, or it was a port fees and taxes refund which will be processed automatically in due time. The latter happened to us for the upcoming WBPC and they issue the refund one reservation at a time, so it might not be immediate in relation to the new amount showing on the website for new bookings.

If it is a change in taxes or port fees then you will get the $30 anyway.

This might be the reason why they won't give more. Might be processing and we all know the some of the CM's are not the best.

I was thinking the same thing. I was surprised to see a $27.00 credit and called. It was for reduced tax fee.

I treated my mom to a couple sail away drinks ! WOO HOO !

Best advice. Once you're paid up just take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.

I am confused on this. Are you saying that you lose OBC if you don't take the exact cruise you booked on board originally? I have moved my bookings many times and I didn't lose the OBB discount? I know there is a change in the amount of the Gold and Silver amounts, but not losing the OBB discount all together.

Can you explain if there is a new policy. Thanks!

The policy is still the same. You can move to a new date all you want and maintain the OBB discounts, of course provided it is still before PIF date.

To the OP what was the difference in the Fare prices? How many people in your cabin? Just curious if the $30 bucks you are talking about is a reducion in the fare and if so by how much for which cruise. I am thinking this must be taxes. Doesn't seem like Disney would reduce fares by $5 bucks or so but maybe. Just compare your original booking fare with the new one on the computer. Are they the same or is it the taxes that are different? Curious?

Oh Ok thanks! I have one out there and we haven't decided what we are going to do with it yet. Thanks!

I was thinking if he ended up cancelling & rebooking to get the new price. I wasn't even thinking, like a PP, that he could change it to another date & back again, but then that brings on another set of problems.

I don't stop looking back until it's too late to do anything about it. We had an OBB for a quickie 3 nighter. After we booked, they came out with KSF which turned out to be a better deal. It was simple to change to a dummy date & book KSF and save a lot of $.

Now non-refundable airfare is another story. Then there's no point in looking back.

The OP can't change the reservation, the travel agent has to. All of this has to go through the travel agent.

If you're past the PIF date, nothing you can do.

If not, and they refuse to accede to the travel agent's requests, you will need to cancel and rebook without retaining the on board booking benefits (you can move that reservation to a new cruise and book another at the lower rate, but for $30?)

so - to answer a few questions - my 2nd dc will be the 3 night bahama cruise isn't until august - i booked a verandah for 2448 (which was the lowest price at the time ) - went back on the dcl website to just check things out since we'll be on a different ship this time and was curious to see prices - i found that the verandahs were going for 2418 - and i do realize $30 difference isn't alot but $30 here and $30 adds up!! so i called my travel agent who said the fare was gone - which i was ok with since travel prices change in the blink of an eye after a few days looked again and there it was - since it was after hours (friday night) called dcl who also said the fare was gone and when did i see it i said i was looking at it -dcl finally said the fare was available but wouldn't switch me since to quote "i had enough discounts" - i think that's what got me going -disney inferring i was taking advantage of discounts disney OFFERED - if they don't want people to take advantage of the discounts or be able to switch don't offer it!!

so now the fare is still available and i still want it - partly for the $30 and partly because it's the principle - don't offer a lower price and pretend it's not there!!!!

frankly i think bookings must be off and they're trying to get new passengers not have current ones get lower prices (just a thought)

thanks for all the posts!!
